I feel the answer is obvious, but I’m still hanging onto hope. My dog ate one of my tarot cards, the King of Cups. My deck is ruined/unusable, correct?

I apologize if this isn’t an appropriate question for /tarot. I’m new to tarot and have only had this deck since October and have loved it.

Update: I had no idea you could purchase an individual card in some cases if something like this occurs. Thank you!

Check online- some artists sell individual cards in case you lose or damage them.

I met a guy before I started doing tarot that compiled his deck from multiple decks, keeping cards he connected to.
I got into tarot when I found my grandmother’s deck after she passed away. A few months later, I realized the deck was missing a lot of cards. I got a new deck, but decided to keep some of my grandma’s cards (putting aside any doubles from my new deck).
I’ve felt incredibly connected to this deck and love the idea of holding onto cards and sort of building my own deck as time goes on.
    Food for thought. 🙂

I know with some decks you can order one card to replace the one that is torn or misplaced. Contact the people who made it and ask if you can get a replacement card and how much it will cost.

In this situation, whatever you decide is best for you will be correct. However, for me, it would be time to replace the deck – or at least the missing card if the deck’s publisher provides that option.

Great excuse to finally get that deck you’ve been eyeing. Everyone has that deck they been putting off getting.

Find an image of it online and use one of the “extra cards” (usually like a title page or an advertisement) to make a substitute till you find a replacement. 🙂

Maybe just use this deck to do your dogs readings from now on. You can just accept that The King Of Cups is forever in your dogs readings, as clearly it’s their favourite card. 🙂

I lost a card once. I just made my own version of the card and stuck that bad boy back in the deck until I could get another deck. It stuck out like a sore thumb and you could always see it coming, but it worked just fine.

Take a picture of your dog with a crown and a cup and cut it to the size of your deck and poof, new King of Cups!

Happened to me too and I bought a replacement deck before finding out that I could probably have gotten a replacement sent. A few other cards had teeth marks though, so maybe it was for the best.

Also need to pay the dog tax (only if you want, of course). Here is mine: https://www.reddit.com/r/greatdanes/comments/lfdujo/happy_birthday_imriel/

Depends on your luck. I’ve tried to find a replacement for one missing card in my Ostara deck, my first deck. I haven’t yet, so I’m entertaining other uses for the rest of the cards… I hope you find what you need ????✨

I don’t know, i lost two of my cards in the fire I was using to cleanse and dedicate them when I first got it, and I have to say my readings are still very accurate despite the loss.

Maybe think on your lost card, it’s method of demise and see if it is a message?

Depends on the specific way and reason you read. I have a deck where a lot of the cards are based on real people, some of whom are awful abusive assholes and I took out the cards with people on them and I still get great readings from it. I use that deck mostly in situations where those limitations make sense anyway. I’ve lived a life where some options and outcomes aren’t likely and I like that my deck has lived a life as well if that makes sense?

If you choose not to replace the card it makes sense to have another complete deck for reading for other people or situations where having life limitations doesn’t make sense
