I have Pluto in the 8th house (Sagittarius) and I’m still confused about this placement lol. But I feel like whatever house and sign it’s in, will likely be transformed in a way.

Random, but I just finished a Saturn trine Pluto transit, and one of the things to come out of that was a contemplation of the parallels between Saturn and Pluto.

They both represent the outer limit. Before Pluto’s discovery, Saturn was the most distant planet. They both relate to the boundary between order and chaos.

They both deal with death and loss. Saturn is associated with Harvest (end of the growing season), and the grim reaper is supposedly based on Saturn/Cronos with his sickle/scythe. Pluto/Hades is the god of the underworld and is associated with death and rebirth.

Both are concerned with power and authority (and security).

In terms of mythology, they are both chthonic. Saturn was exiled to Tartarus, where he is held captive in chains. Again, Pluto is the god of the underworld.

Pluto can indicate areas of life where we experience crisis and loss. In EA, Pluto tells us about the soul’s evolution and is linked to catharsis, healing, and the opportunity for rebirth. Similarly, Saturn is the greater malefic but is also considered the great teacher and lord of karma. I think of Pluto as malefic, but like all the planetary archetypes, they are deeply complex and seemingly paradoxical.

anecdotally I do feel this way. I have pluto in scorpio in the 4th house and have a lot of family and childhood trauma/have experienced a lot of figurative and literal death in the family.

I think Saturn is more about refinement. Addition and subtraction. Think about Libra’s exaltation. It is a scale. An object is created through refining materials. Add metal, and screws, subtracting its mass to make its shape. Libras gotta add and subtract things to maintain balance. Pluto is about changing form. Think about the sign Pluto is exalted in Aries. The self changes its form to become different selves. Meaning, that people change and can become a different person. Or Aries started as itself and progressed through the wheel becoming Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, etc. Ha, hopefully, that makes sense.

I don’t think so. Pluto is my chart ruler and it is in my 10th house. I have been suffering from self-esteem but never in the workplace. On the contrary I feel quite powerful when I work lol.

I have had Pluto transiting my 2nd house for a while though and when Saturn and Jupiter also was there things got very bad with my finances.

I have pluto in the 11th and I am so deeply alone, hard to stay in community. But I also have a huge power of transformation there that I am starting to tape in

With direct pluto, it depends on how other planets comes in harmony/imbalance/clash with pluto itself.

Most of my friend has pluto direct in their houses, successfully accomplish their goals in life. While i have pluto Rx who went through difficult roads/battle/obstacles to reach my goal

Pluto in 8th house Scorpio, I’ve always loved the taboo, supernatural or anything unique. I’ve always kinda had a dark edge but I love darkness

Pluto has an intensifying effect on whatever it is aspected to or whatever house it is in (this is the most general effect). It will take things to the extreme, make them deeper, or darker depending on the circumstances.
