So after work I’m sometimes tired. I want to read a book or do another project but don’t have the energy. Can someone recommend an exercise to gain energy? I believe this might involve a breathing exercise. Thanks

Boring secular answer but: I have a desk job so going outside does it for me. Even if it’s just a 15min walk around the corner the fresh air and leg stretching gives me so much energy. You could also combine this with walking meditation

Also secular answer but yes, physical activity will give you energy. Aerobic respiration (getting your heart rate up) produces something called ATP which is literally energy in your cells. Source: I am a student and just took biology last semester. Get sweaty!

Hi! I’m a ganja yoga witch. I smoke weed, do yoga, and practice witchcraft. If you are looking for a spiritual practice to give you more energy, can I recommend yoga? You can leave the ganja part out if you want, or not whatever. What you are seeking it seems is movement, and you’re right about the breath! Breath and movement go hand in hand!

Exercise gives you endorphins that raise your energy levels. Any exercise will do.

If you’re talking about spiritual energy, you could try grounding and drawing energy from the earth. Be sure to give some back when you are back to normal levels.

As other redditors have pointed out, physical activity can promote feeling/being energetic. Some practitioners engage in some sports or martial arts in order to sustain their active well-being. Although it puzzled some of my not-so-active pals, my overall energy climbed when I took up mountain biking. Plus, riding park and wilder land trails proved enchanting (and scary, sometimes). Building skill sets is good for us.

The law of one book says meditating with a small pyramid under your head for no more than 30 minutes will energize you. I combine that with energy meditations and I feel great after. I use a small one inch quartz pyramid.

I use a free app called insight timer for guided meditations and this is my favorite one for grounding and getting my energy back. I use it whenever I’m feel tired or depressed or off in any way. https://insig.ht/RFm2RwbMYgb

Music and dancing with lots of percussion. Draw the energy from the rhythm up through your feet, through your body, and out through your fingers. If you are a profoundly bad dancer and this feels silly; GOOD! Use the ridiculousness to bring forth some giggles and laughter. My favorite is dancing like a middle-aged white man trapped in a toddlers body. Remember to stretch afterwards…

People often mistakenly say they have no energy. If person spends whole day laying on a couch watching tv they will feel UGH and they might said they have no energy and are tired.

Thats only because most people just feel expenses of energy. When people wake up in morning they are full of energy but they feel dead. of course this have physiological reasons like your brain just starting up. Hormones just starting to be produced etc. But still you are full of energy.

I worked as IT technician and spend 8 hours sitting behind PC. At the end of the shift I was ”tired and sleepy”. I went as usual in a gym still tired. When I came from a gym I felt energised and refreshed.

So energy is no problem. Its more about state of mind and given activity. YOu might feel tired but when you get to the activity you will feel no problem.

I use my exercise bike to raise energy in spellwork due to me being a lazybones. I have to work out for navy recs *and* raise energy for a protection work? Hahaha, nope. 2 birds, one stone. It’s also handy if you get one of those phone clips to just read on a tablet while you bike. You can read paper books too, but I don’t know what your hand sweat situation is, so biker beware on that one. I’m a sweaty bitch, so it’s the tablet for me.

I’ve seen decent used stationary bikes on FB market place for like 25$ if you don’t mind used!

I have one of those exercise bikes with a desk on it. Totally ridiculous looking. Totally usable! You can do anything on it. So you can read and do your activities while biking! Its wonderful. Ive been writing in my BOS while I bike.
