I have been doing tarot for less than two years so I still see myself as very much a beginner. Lately I have been reading much better and thought it’s finally time to incorporate reversals. Any time I got them I just flipped it back. I already felt like it was a lot to figure out the uprights that reversals too just overwhelmed me at the time.
But now that is all I pull. I even look through the rest of the deck and no other cards are reversed but the ones I pull! I know some seasoned readers don’t even do reversals. I’m just not sure what to make of this or if I should just read and stop worrying about position.
If you don’t read reversals do you go by the upright meaning?

How do you create reversals? I know some people drop their deck on the floor and mix it all around. Personally, I set all of my cards upright, shuffle a couple times, reverse about a quarter of the cards, and shuffle a bunch more.
Probabilistically, if you set up half the deck to be reversed then you’re going to get a lot of reversed cards. I usually only get one reversal per spread.

Has pulling mostly reversals put you off of using them entirely?
Personally I don’t use them. I read intuitively and consider the whole spectrum of meanings and decide which applies depending on the question asked, the position the card came up in, and the cards surrounding it. A very simple example might be, for one position: “What should I release?” and the card coming up is The Fool, which I would read as others might read The Fool Rx (naivety, not looking before I leap, etc.).

That’s great!!! you’re making a step forward to the mastery of tarot.
I personally do reversals and i think they’re a very important thing at reading, cause we gotta see all detailed stuff even if it’s bad.
