Friend that passed away in 2020, does anybody get anything from this picture?

I’m seeing some struggles that he was dealing with before he passed, and feelings of being exhausted and overwhelmed. I’m also feeling that he tried very hard to keep things “normal” and didn’t share much of what he was going through.
Someone may have actually been blocking him from completing something he was working on.
I’m also feeling that he felt unprepared for his passing (something about his shoes?) and is stubbornly still bound to the earth realm. He may be still connected to some people here. He may also be having trouble accepting that he has passed, and needs help to move forward to his next step.

Did he have breathing or lung issues?

Have you dreamed about him since he passed? Does he seem to be unaware about what happened?
