I think a cool way to open that door is to pick something…put up a wind chime/see if there are any birds that remind you of him/take note of anything that reminds you of him and tell him you want to talk to him and you know he’s there. Let him know you feel safe with him and you want him to visit you. Talk to him (out loud or silently) when you see him show up in those things. Yes, the frequency illusion is real—the more you think about things, the more you notice them. But sometimes they really do start showing up more and more and you just KNOW it’s them.
I heard a beautiful story the other day where a daughter who was missing her late dad was talking to him one night and told him she needed a “clear sign.” She felt comfort in but unsure that he was the bird visiting her at the window, the star that always seemed brightest at night, the rain storms out of nowhere. The next day her neighbors, who had been thinking of her family around the anniversary of his death, left a hand-painted sign in their yard that said “I LOVE YOU!”
