emhermMemberI’ve been practicing mindfulness/meditation a lot, and have come a long way. I am much more comfortable in stillness than I used to be. I’m thinking down the line I want to try a sensory deprivation tank. I know I have a sensitivity, so I’m wondering if something like this could strengthen it, especially if it was something I did regularly. Thoughts/stories?

Has anyone here done sensory deprivation?

GuestDecember 8, 2022 at 5:20 amI float almost weekly- wish I could more often. I’ve been to two places and they each have music and lights inside the tank. You adjust both to your comfort level and try to let go.
I have taken to putting on a guided meditation in the tank and lights off. I can generally sleep/meditate for about 35-45 min and I’m done. Some people do 90 min in the tank- I’m. It there yet.
The tank is shallow, only about 8-10” of water that has so much salt in it you float.
Highly highly recommend.

GuestDecember 8, 2022 at 5:20 amI have. I love it. Very relaxing. Nothing mind blowing has happened to me while meditating in one but it helps me focus.

GuestDecember 8, 2022 at 5:20 amI tried once and couldn’t make myself relax enough to enjoy it. I’d like to definitely go back now that I know what it’s like.
