About 8 weeks ago I started having some concerns about my heart. I made a cardiologist appointment, however due to COVID they were booked out for a couple months anyway so I’ve been waiting for my appointment day. When I scheduled the visit I was having so much anxiety about it, I decided to do a spread meditating on my health. I pulled the devil, the hermit, and strength. I’m new to tarot so I could only give myself a limited interpretation but this didn’t feel positive to me. I patiently awaited my doctors appointment.

I partake in marijuana very infrequently. Once every few months just about. I don’t crave it and only smoke socially because my best friends have medical cards. Every time I’ve smoked I haven’t felt right. People around me would say I was just high and in my own head. Friday night around 8 PM I took half an edible my friend got from the dispensary, one I’ve taken before, and called 911 thirty minutes later. I knew something wasn’t right. After 30 seconds of the EMT’s taking my vitals, they called for an ambulance and I had to get my heart shocked back into rhythm.

I am okay. I was diagnosed with a heart condition and now have more appointments to figure out how to navigate this. It can hopefully be managed with medicines and a very minor surgery. I understand the devil card now though. No more drugs. You don’t have to necessarily be addicted for it to have it’s grips on your life. I’m not saying weed is the devil at all, just that it doesn’t mix with lurking health conditions.

Wishing you all peace and health in this new year.

Yeah, the good news about the Devil is that it’s your choice in the end.

Hermit: withdrawing from the world, listening to your own intuition or learning on your own.

Strength: you do have the strength of will or character to meet the challenges you face.

Marijuana tends to make the heart beat faster, so that makes sense that you had such a negative reaction to it! I’m so sorry for your experience. People should definitely be aware that if they have heart or blood pressure issues that one of the effects of marijuana on the system is increased heartrate! (Also why I think it triggers anxiety in some. I’m usually ok because I just remind myself that it’s because of the weed not anxiety but yeah.) I’m glad you were able to find out that you had the condition but ugh what a traumatic way to find out!! Also, as a stoner myself, I’m sorry the people around you invalidated the way marijuana made you feel. It’s absolutely not for everyone and I hope that none of them pressure you in the future!

Wishing you peace and health and safety out there. So glad you’re okay ????

Thank you for sharing your story, I find that the Devil also lurks, ready to take advantage of us when we’re vulnerable. He never wants a fair fight; he always wants something to hold over us. I’m glad you showed him the door.
