My witchy crystal healer friend says its a geode, most likely quartz

Of course that’s only half of it.

From its look only, it seems to be quartz. Maybe you could try to rate its hardness with mohs scale.
If its quartz it should be able to damage glass. If you have a little glass object to rub inside the geode you could find its hardness.
