GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmMy friends and I had a Feminist Party Ho-Alition in university and beyond. These were the days before cell phones were universal and before social media beyond MySpace and LJ.
We knew who was sketchy and would ask them to be removed (or trick them into leaving.) We would find people basically dragging drunk or drugged people off for sex and wrestle them back to stay with us and get them home. We always had packs of little coasters from the dollar store or swiped from shitty bars to hand out if someone mentioned worrying about their drink getting spiked (to put over their drink.) We always came prepared with condoms to hand out if someone was even breathing horny lol.
One party, a friend saw a guy spike a drink. He was so fucking dumb about it, too – he still had tablets in his hand. So she said to him, “Could I have one of those?” He put it in her drink for her, and she began screaming he was drugging drinks. Someone cut the music, there was confusion, but everyone turned on him. Half the party was dragging him out, and the rest were finding places to dump their drinks. Funny part was, the fire department was pulling up because someone reported a fire hazard bonfire (we had no bonfire) and they held onto the guy while the cops were called. My friend gave them her spiked drink as evidence. He was on probation for the rest of term.
Nobody got assaulted on our watch, to our knowledge. We don’t know of anyone who got preggo at those parties (as I say, that we know of.) If someone was caught spiking drinks, people didn’t go to the host, they went to the crazy feminists with home haircuts and screamy faces.
And you know what? We drank, had fun, danced our asses off, smoked joints, made out with hotties, the works. We still had fun. We just had one eye on the party and another on the shit.

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmI reposted this with user name and sub crossed out for confidentiality
The post is not available on that sub anymore because that sub 100% supports the rights of a person to protect themselves from sexual harassment and abuse.
I am just in awe of how bad ass this person is! I def want to protect my friends from predators and bad administrators or authority figures!

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmLook at these girls, protecting each other and living their best lives, partying with chill people instead of creeps. Love that for them.

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmI think that this is absolutely awesome. If this trend sets in, places that are not woman friendly will soon be known as total sausage fests. Only gay men will want to be there. Usually though places that are not woman friendly are not gay friendly either so they’ll disappear. Grow up or die out guys!

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmI loved this when I read it the first time, and I still love it! It’s honestly a pretty brilliant way for women to be able to protect each other!
You’d hope some of the no-go guys would figure out that being decent is better than being predatory but some of them doubled down, and it’s a good way to see exactly who is capable of self-reflection and growth and who clearly isn’t. Just gives more of a reason to stay away from them!

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmThese are just common practices that would benefit ANYONE going to a college party. I hope this isn’t revolutionary, and just the norm one day.

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmI think this is awesome. It would be fun to also have a secret badge or symbol that union members can recognize to see who is a safe union friend at the party.

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmI love this. Unironically, college can be dangerous and while the “college experience” gets a rosy gloss it can be downright traumatic with the internalized misogyny, peer pressure, binge drinking, all of that. This concept of unionizing party girls is amazing and I love seeing young women support each other and show some bad ass solidarity. Staying safe while partying should be encouraged, and anyone who has a problem with this union’s stated guidelines can suck an egg.

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmI loved this AITA!
When I had first read it all I could think was the amount of times people at my school reporting their harrassers kept more people safeHoe unions are amazing and we need more of them

GuestJune 11, 2022 at 9:25 pmThis is…awesome. I love everything about this. Women looking out for each other is always a good thing.
And the bros that are mad about it…Well that just means your Union is working, and those are exact the people to stay away from.
