How do we feel about a Sag(male) Virgo(female) romantic relationship?

I’m a virgo and was engaged to a sag male when we were 20.
We didn’t speak the same language for the first six months of our relationship, but we both kind of spoke Spanish so we got by that way until we both learned. I still think really highly of him, it was an amicable breakup—we just were really young and it would have messed up my college money if we got married and he took it personally me wanting to wait.
But yeah, chemistry was great.

Both being mutable signs, interested in learning and discovering new things, such a relationship has the potential to be intellectually stimulating for both partners, however their interests may be very different, and they may often disagree because what is essential to one partner often won’t be for the other one.
This relationship is essentially that of a square, incompatible, conflicting, and needing a lot of work, efforts and sacrifices in order to last and yield positive/constructive results.
However, as always, the relationship between the Sun placements of two individuals represents only a fraction of their overall relationship, it isn’t enough to make any conclusion about whether or not such a relationship would work, the placements of the Moon, the Rising sign and everything else matters too, + aspects.

A difficult relationship full of conflict according to traditional astrology, but like another commentor already said, it would be foolish to judge compatibility based on Sun signs.
As a female Virgo Sun with both a male Sagittarius ex and a male Sagittarius partner, I can only say the experiences were extremely different from each other.
Ex (Sag Sun, Aqua Moon, Cap Rising) was extremely funny and a great platonic friend, the romantic/sexual part just wasn’t there. He had self esteem issues that made physical intimacy very hard for him. It got really toxic really quick, lots of conflicts and anger/frustration. The breakup was tough for both of us. He was extremely loyal.
New partner (Sag Sun, Cap Moon, Leo Rising) is honestly my soul mate and the love of my life, I’ve never been happier. We have a great sex life, share the same love language and life goals, love exploring and educating ourselves together. We have very minor conflicts and love harmony. I have to mention that he’s had a massive hoe phase though which is a stereotype for Sags while I haven’t and that is kind of a turn off (me having a BC of 3, including him lol). He is family oriented and committed though, we’re moving in together soon and planning to get married and have children.

I’m a Virgo sun/ cap moon/ Aries rising /Venus libra casually dating a sag sun Virgo rising Taurus moon aqua Venus and he’s the most gentlemanly nice generous guy but sooo practical and not the brightest! He’s really simple but so kind. very masculine guy. Traditional. Won’t let me lift a finger or pay for anything. Like I definitely am the flowy flower throwing my own party big dreamer and he kind of follows me around like a dopey puppy dog. I can see how it *could* work long term but I think for our combination I get annoyed by how practical and simple he is and I shouldn’t be annoyed this early on 😂
