Hi, I found out I was a medium 3-4 months ago and have been mediating since. I try to meditate 25 mins a day. About a month ago I started doing a tarot readings everyday. I notice subtle improvement such as knowing the answer to yes or no questions and recognizing which spirit guide I’m speaking to. My question is how long did it take you to develop your abilities to where you could confidently give someone a reading without needing any help from tools. I know I probably have a long way to go but I’m curious 🙂

It varies from a day to several lifetimes. Each person is different.

Meditation alone isn’t enough. There’s a ton of factors that can speed up or slow it down, including how useful these skills will be for the goals you planned to accomplish in this life, your guides, your evolution level, your emotional intelligence, your wisdom, your skepticism, your open-mindedness, your breathing, your diet, your place of rest, your problems, your daily awareness, your body, the karmic links pulling you down, the souls connected to you, the egregores/hiveminds that you mentally connect to, your stress level, your thought vibration level, your will power, your desire to achieve it, your discipline, etc.

I guess you can compare it a bit with learning to do a back-flip. Some people learn in a day, some people will never learn how.

Some get it instantly, a day or less, others take literally years to develop. There are commonalities though:

1] Mechanism – the how to

2] Doubt/grounding – it can be hard to believe even if you suspend disbelief, that’s a common struggle that needs to be overcome with experience

3] Intrusive thoughts and thoughtforms – once you open the conduit you’re also allowing all the skeletons in your closit and shadow demons free entry. Each will have to be defeated and you’ll develop techniques to separate these internally generated thoughtforms from the ones you intend to connect to.

4] Beacon effect – you’ve opened a conduit and have confidence in your guides and sources you’ve beaten down your inner demons and done your shadow work but then ~surprise~ *there are others* that you may not be so keen on talking to.

5] The lull – there will be a time when suddenly you lose your ability, it seems you’re all alone again and it can cause anxiety, the issue is, anxiety can close the connection too, so you’ll need to learn that this is a temporary condition that will pass. Sometimes there’s a strong guide that can still come through even if all other sources seem to have disappeared. Very rare migraines can do this too. The body isn’t always in a perfect condition.

6] Confidence – you’ve had enough experience that your resolve is rock solid.

7] Preponderance or evidence – now any explanation for yoir critical mass of exprerience, other than a metaphysical one, are *less likely*.

    For me:
1 took 20 minutes in, 2 was over by about 7 months, 3 and 4 ended by 9 months, 5 was very mild for me, but it did happen and I did get freeked out, 6 and 7 took over a year though they were growing steadily after 3 months.

I’ve been at it for 8 years, part time I guess, and I still use tarot to get me started. I was never a “natural talent” though.
