I don’t think you need to! I have never cleaned or charged my cards and have always gotten accurate answers. Just make sure you are really clear about your intentions going into the reading and you should be fine.

If you would like to clean your cards there are many ways to do so. A few suggestions:

* By letting them soak in the moonlight at full moon
* By sound, using a bell or a singing bowl or something like that
* By incense or other type of smoke
* By knocking on the cards
* Using crystals (selenite is a good cleansing crystal)

You don’t have to clean your decks if you don’t want to, do what feels best!

I may have done the full moon thing back in the 90s. It made no difference that I could see so I never did it again.

I have never worried about cleansing because I do not believe that doing a helpful reading for someone is going to leave some sort of icky residue on my cards. If you shuffle the cards each time, you reorder them and each reading is new.

Others believe differently. Pick what works for you.
