God, I spent over a decade in Texas. As much as I agree with people that hate its policies, it makes me sad because it could be an incredibly beautiful and wonderful place to live. I absolutely hate its government, but it will forever remain my favorite state.

If you’re in Texas, find a bluer zone like Austin or Houston and they will accept you like family.

TEXAS IS PURPLE. The population is, statistically, [more blue than red](https://www.pewforum.org/religious-landscape-study/state/texas/party-affiliation/). It’s not a backwards red state that you should direct your scorn towards. It’s an oppressed blue state that you should want to free from its undemocratic [gerrymandering](https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/analysis-opinion/anatomy-texas-gerrymander).

Can I chip in on a way to help Ukraine?

There’s this organisation called A Drop in the Ocean, that was born during the refugee crisis in 2015 when more than 800 000 refugees came to Greece by boats. A woman called Trude Jacobsen just could sit safely in Norway, she had to do something! The big help organisations were to slow, so she packed bags and suitcases with warm clothes, nappies, sanatary products, infant formula and blankets and booked a flight to [Lesvos](https://www.drapenihavet.no/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/A334A17C-76D4-4223-B705-C89B912FB99F_1_105_c-1.jpeg)

Another great way to directly get money into the pockets of Ukrainian people is to “buy” from their online stores—as a donation, without expectation of receiving the item and without giving them the stress of having to keep track of and ship purchases later.

i can’t cross post [this](https://reddit.com/r/ImTheMainCharacter/comments/t1ekc3/please_share_on_all_subs/) to the sub but the president of ukraine released a video. i know the name of the sub i am sharing this from probably seems like it is an insult but it was a means of sharing it from op. i think it deserves to be shared again and again and again and again. id rather see it too many times than not at all, and i feel that others will share the same opinion.
