I know that this isn’t important right now but im very curious, how drastic natal charts would be if a human is born on Mars? Would earth be a planet that’s implemented into their charts instead of Mars? Different signs? Would a Martian’s personality and purpose in life be different from a person on earth because they’re born on a different planet? Will astrology change entirely as the world becomes more modern?

Astrology on Mars won’t be viable until a few decades of observations and data to interpret. But I’d argue we’d need a few hundred years for it to be truly useful.

I think there will still be twelve houses and twelve signs, as I suspect that division has more to do with our perception of time in space than anything else. Those signs will be different, however.

Planets will be similar, but instead of Luna we’ll have Phobos and Deimos. Phobos is the personification of fear and panic and has a an orbital period of about seven hours. Deimos is the personification of dread and terror and has an orbital period of about 30 hours.

Phobos is hideous in the sky from Mars and Deimos almost looks like a star. Like Luna, they will have similar emotional and habitual meanings, but lack the motherly aspects. Phobos will represent habits while I suspect Deimos will be what’s hidden. Earth will then take on a “motherly role” because we’re human and that’s our origin.

Similar issues exist with Luna. What do you do for astral bodies that orbit a planet? I suppose the Earth will simply take it’s Moon’s place on the Moon and the constellations may be similar enough not to be concerned.

The real issue in future astrology will be space stations and those traveling through space. Space stations close enough to Earth will be fine. We’ll likely have to create a standard astrological model using some very advanced math and computers for anything further out, however.

What would Earth stand for in your birthchart?

On Mars, its two moons Phobos and Deimos will play a more significant role. Similarly, when viewed from Mars, Earth and our Moon will always appear very close together. Moons of other planets is an interesting area of astrology to consider, even for those of us on Earth: http://www.astrolog.org/astrolog/astmoon.htm

Can you imagine how intense mars would be? Everyone would get so passionate. Probably start a war as soon as they land.

Hmmmm I think the stars are far enough not to change the signs much but I could be wrong.

However having no Mars in a chart and Moon not revolving around the planet of birth is interesting. Will Earth always conjunct Moon in a lose orb?

And what about the synastry between an Earth in an earth sign born on Mars and a Mars in a fire sign born on Earth…

    So many questions.
