Forums Forums Magic, Witchcraft and Healing I almost burned my living room twice 😬 How can I replace candles/fire?

So, whenever I try to make a spell I like to use some candles and pray, but lately my candles have been giving me a lot of safety problems. They burn in the wrong way, usually fall on the table, make glass explode, etc. Luckily I always have a glass of water nearby for safety.

My first conclusion is that I’m terrible with fire and shouldn’t dare to make a spell involving any kind of fire again. Besides that I don’t think there is a magical explanation.

But I would like to know if there is another way or element to use instead of candles to pray and give energy and intention to my spells. I would like to know what has worked for you. Also, is there another way to seal spell jars that doesn’t involve candle wax or anything I should burn?

Battery operated or if you have to use candles there is a new thing that will put them out for you and it’s like a safety dome for candles

NEVER use water on a candle fire. use baking soda or a fire extinguisher. using water to extinguish a candle can cause the glass to break or it could make the fire grow.

    Child.

Get a bit fat frying pan, seriously, a massive frying pan or a big ol’ cake pan to burn your candles in. If you’re ultra scared, get a tin baking tray, fill it with a little water and put your bowl/thing inside of it with the candle on top. This way if the candle falls over, breaks any glass, or whatever, it’ll be inside the water tray and it’ll go out.

I use cake pans and cast iron skillets for my work. Works great. I always use a pan that is large enough to where if the candle knocks over, it’ll stay within the pan no matter what.

Also, are you melting the wax at the bottom and making them stick? That can help prevent them from knocking over.

Only time I ever had fire issues is with burning sigils. Almost burned my blanket up lol. Would not recommend.

If you use them for meditation you can find electric candles that are rechargeable to focus on. They make some that have the flickering effect too

You could use wax warmers instead if you are using the wax to help with your craft the warming of the wax will work for cleansing or releasing the ingredients in the wax to release your spell

If you are using them to cleanse, you could replace with music or liquid spells, sprays

You could use incense, you would still need to use a bit of fire to light them or maybe an electric candle lighter may work

You could always use a wax warmer to melt the wax to seal your spells, just use a spoon or something to scoop it up again and drip over what needs to be sealed

I often have specific candles that I use to seal, I light them just long enough to drip the wax over what needs sealing and then blow them out immediately, you could always try that too

You could seal with corks and then further it with little cloths that have been soaked or sprayed then dried, in protection herbs/moon water/ whatever kind of sealing you’d like or need for what you’re working on

Most likely your spells could be converted to liquid versions or jar spells, sigils are very easy and effective spells as well

You are terrible with fire, can confirm. hehe.

If you want to keep using the flaming little bastards build a firesafe area to light them in. You can make this out of stone, clay, and steel or iron. That way when they do fall over… nothing is going to happen. Also a candle does not put out enough heat to make the iron dangerous. IF IT DOES….. What the fuck kind of candles are you using? Holy shit! Honestly you can use the traditional method. Fill a cauldron with sand, and only burn your candles in the cauldron. Perfectly fire safe.

As for sealing jars with out candle wax…. you can use Sealing Wax. It’s made for things like Sealing letters. You can find some decent kits on line that use a tea candle to heat the wax in a spoon/bowl thing and then pour it on to the jar. Honestly it’s my preferred method. It’s a lot less messy and the wax melts at a far lower temperature so it’s not as likely to burn you either. Added bonus, you can get a neat little press seal to stick into the wax and add like… a pentagram, or whatever for that added witchy flair.

Electric is a good way to go if you worry about fire safety. Not a lot of people use this method, but a small cauldron of water works. Rocks, jewelry, small glass figures, you can pretty much replace it with anything. I got a plant I use as well.

Edit: Almost forgot, if you want to stick with fire I recommend tea lights floating in water.

You can make a nice long elaborated sigil with red color to represent the fire element. Or even draw the symbol of the fire element with artistic shit and draw fire and all. You charge it with the sun, you give a lot of intent, and you have fire element, ready to handle without burn your hand and life.

I do that with the 4 elements, like that I don’t need fire or dirt so or so, just the representations
