I have tarot cards but I don’t know how to read them

What are the techniques on how to read tarot cards? I would like to tap into some skills that have been overshadowed by mental illness. I have the Gateway to the Divine deck and the artwork is stunning.

Hi Lucy, I’m still new to it, been about a year now. But I learned by using a website called the tarot guide. She gives detailed information on all the cards and what they can mean in different situations such as love, career, or finances, etc. Then once you have an understanding of the meaning, you kind of start trusting your intuition more because there could be a different interpretation given to you. I attended a tarot card workshop too and the lady had a cheat sheet which also helped. I don’t rely on them as much now but it helped me out. I’m sure the more seasoned people have even more techniques.

Just sharing what worked for me, I’m more on the beginner side. I use a site called biddy tarot for tarot basics. Super general card definitions (the more you learn you will add your own interpretations to some cards) and also describes basics around the suits (wands, cups, swords, pentacles). The site gives each cards aesthetic descriptions (colors used and why, specific imagery), keywords and general detailed possible interpretations of each card in the upright and reversed positions. Card art is typically intentional, let it inspire you 🙂 Personally it helped me a lot to write keywords on my cards. I also watch general tarot readers often on yt that I feel inspired to click on. I read for myself minimum once a day (assumption, reality, advice, for the day). Once you’re more comfortable, reading for others helps even more w learning and strengthening abilities.
