I just finished making a spiritual ward, and I’ve never felt so connected to the craft.

I’ve been meaning to make a ward for my spiritual life, keeping me safe from negative spirits and energy, also one that protects my familiar, so I finally did it. I picked the berries I stained it with, I spent hours carving it, I spoke to it, asked my ancestors for a blessing on the wooden ward, and on this new moon I’m going to activate it. But while I made the stain, I could feel my great grandmother there with me, watching me and guiding my hands. I could feel her hands guiding mine to the nicest berries, and while I painted it on, I could tell that she was happy with me. My great grandmother was a very natural person, and she lived on a piece of property much like the one I live on now, and she liked dolls, especially wooden ones. I’ve felt her presence before, but never so much like I did while I was painting and collecting berries, and this new moon when I activate it, I get the feeling that she’ll be there too. I just felt so spiritual picking berries to stain a wooden ward that I carved myself, it makes me really look forward to making another one.
