my friend has a daughter who loves twirly dresses and bugs and rocks and leaves. i used to love buying her a new dress for her birthday and making sure it had pockets big enough for her treasures.

I have wide leg pants that begin to flare at the waistband and they STILL don’t have real pockets.

I needed non-flammable cargo pants with pockets for work. The amount of places I had to search to find a decent durable pair was infuriating!

I have a pink pleated skirt that came with my outfit and it has a stealth pocket. It’s hidden by the pleats and it’s the coolest thing ever. Also the too has two pockets big enough for a radio receiver and a few rolls of film
I also have a dress which I kid you not have had for two months until I realized it had pockets.

Is this a good place to mention that cargo kilts are a thing? I’ve been rocking mine all summer.

Absolutely anything other than fuckhuge pockets is a crime and deserves a flogging.
I admit I haven’t bought much clothes in the last decade but if you can’t fit my wallet, phone, keys, handkerchief and Ventolin in my pockets safely and with no chance of them falling out (Looking at you, tracksuit pants) then you aren’t going on my legs.
Also – and I’ll admit to having no clue about skirts, dresses etc – shouldn’t it be easy as fuck to hide big-arse pockets in them?

This would me. I was and still am a tomboy and I love to play in the mud and get dirty and work on cars and stuff. When I had my daughter at a playgroup there were different things so the kids could see what things felt like. Like bubbles slippery clay and stuff. The girls who ran the group noticed that I stripped my daughter down to the diaper and I let her play with everything and I played with her to show her to explore things. People asked me what about her getting dirty. I said that she can be washed up that’s what she is supposed to do. They noted that I was the only person who let their kids play with everything. They put it in their report to DHS and the court. That I encouraged her to explore and played with her. All kids should be encouraged to explore and get dirty especially girls.

It’s crazy to me that retailers have not yet figured out that I will pay more for a dress with actual pockets.
