I pretended to have an abortion

The long and short of it is this happened before the r v w upturning But I feel compelled to share.. My cousin needed to have an abortion but she was so scared to go to because she has anxiety and there is lots of protesters I am in a state where protesters are common. So I come up with an idea. And basically what happened is I took her and when we showed up I pretended to be the one who was super ashamed of the place. I acted ashamed of the protesters. I cried I acted like I was the 1 having an abortion and they focused most of their energy on me. Some of them still focused on her for enabling me but most of them folks told me because I seemed like I was the 1 having the abortion most of the heat was taken off her and I still feel good about this because if I can focue on the fact The I saved her discomfort by having the majority of the the majority of the attention on me

totally not the same thing but when i was in high school i lived in a small country town and the only place you could buy condoms was the local pharmacy, and the staff knew everyone. i had a terrible reputation because i bought up to five or six boxes of condoms a week. no adults would let their kids talk to me. all the condoms i bought were for other people. i wasn’t sexually active, i just didn’t want to see anyone get pregnant or an STD.

Nice work!! This doesn’t really happen much in my state, but I’ve always wanted to be one of the people who protects patients from the forced-birther protesters and walks them inside. I’ve called a few clinics to see if they needed volunteers for that but they all said they don’t get protesters often. Which is a good thing! But I still wish I could be near the ones that do need volunteers.

Favorite moment of mine: Went to a planned parenthood for birth control. Protesters are unabashedly yelling at me for being a baby killer. Can’t hear them because some heavy metal dude is posted with a speaker, blasting screamo music. I have vowed that I will do this one day, and fully intend to.

Well done, you! Does that clinic have clinic escorts? Approach one of them and ask to sign up! You can identify them because they’ll be wearing a traffic vest in a certain color (ours where I am is a rainbow striped vest). Fulfilling work.

I moved to a new town and lived there for years. Then I noticed a protest and realized oh that’s where I can get a abortion. So these protesters are actually free advertising for the abortion clinic.

Those protestors are the fucking worst. I live in a major and very progressive city in a blue state so when I got mine last year I figured no way I’d have to worry about any of that harassment. How naive of me. When I stepped outside, my partner (who had to wait outside due to covid restrictions) and I were immediately swarmed by men with pamphlets, shoving them at me and telling me “god loves you anyway”. I had to go the surgical route, so I was super out of it and in a lot of pain, and relied on my partner to get me out of there. We went into a coffee shop like a block away and one of those assholes had the audacity to FOLLOW US IN THERE and start proselytizing loudly and trying to get in my face, at which point my typically very sweet and non confrontational partner lost his shit and got between us and told the dude in no uncertain terms that he needed to leave immediately, which thankfully he did. I hate that the only thing that stopped the guy harassing me was a larger man aggressively defending me, but I’m so grateful he was there to help. It just sucks. Sorry for the word vomit and oversharing.

I once pretended to be pregnant!
The story: In Germany usually everyone has healthcare. But sometimes when you are super unlucky, paperwork can eff you up. So a friend had lost healthcare for 1 month. In this one month unfortunately a condom literally exploded inside her. They had to pull the pieces out of her. Of course he had already lost some juice.

So anyway, I was her only friend in that city, and we went to a gynecologist to get a prescription plan b (it was still only with prescription for people with healthcare) and I told the story as if it happened to me. Long story short, we got the plan b at the pharmacy, outside I gave it to her. And she ended up being not pregnant. She was not a close friend by any means, but I’d do it again, even for strangers. Nobody should have to go through this shit.

Luckily, you can now buy plan b pills without prescription in Germany. Which means you also don’t need healthcare. You just need some cash. Yay!
