Norse pagan here. I think I have a house spirit. It’s literally know where else that I feel this way. Like this vague entity in the back of my mind that bleeds into my visual perception of the world around me, but it’s just at my house. I have come to the conclusion that I have a malicious house spirit. How do I banish them and how do I invite good ones?

I, personally, find that ‘making a place my own’ helps with any ‘unwanted guest’ type spirits. Once or twice a year I’ll go around my place with a bell, doing a sound cleanse, and repeating, with powerful intent “this is my dwelling, this is my home, if you don’t like it then leave me alone. This is my place, and I’m here to stay, if you’re upset, then just go away.”

Get along or get out. Tell them that. Let them know they could stay if they stopped being so negative, but if they won’t get with the program you will kick them out. Give them one day after this ultimatum, and if they continue being negative, kick them out.
As for inviting good ones, that is a whole huge area with many different methods. Start with protection/shielding, then throw open a window and call for what you desire to show up.
