This might be graphic or triggering for some people

A few days ago I got a frantic call from my grandpa to come to my dads house, he was 55 and had fallen down his stairs.

I watched as they removed my dads body from his house. When they laid him onto the stretcher I could see a real small goldish yellow wind kick up over him. It made its way to me and it wasn’t a smell of death or anything bad, but I smelled my dad. Then I could feel him physically all around me like a hug. I was so shocked at the clear color and smelling him. He was already in body bags. I’m such a wreck after this loss and have been seeing communication signs everywhere but I am worried that I’m just making these with my Ego to help pacify my grief.

Was I in shock from the tragic death? Why yellow?

You saw and felt what you did, it was real. When my father died in a hospital 20 miles away from me, I *felt* a presence, HIS presence in the kitchen where I was cleaning up alone after dinner. This was immediately followed by his spirit/soul/whatever you want to call it, bonking into my right temple and bouncing off the inside of my skull on the left, saying ‘WHEE, THIS IS FUN!!! Guess he was really enjoying himself after several days in a coma. I got a call a few minutes later from my brother who was up at the hospital, telling me Dad had just died (at that exact moment, minutes earlier). I said ‘I know’ but my real reaction was ‘nope, he’s right here in my head!’

He spent several weeks inside there, as a second personality alongside my own, even went to his own funeral ‘I always wanted to do this, just like Tom Sawyer!’ before he just sort of faded out.

I spent a long time questioning it, was I insane, was I in shock, was it wishful thinking? Nope, nope, nope. It really happened. Just because we can’t yet explain it scientifically or metaphysically, just because *I* can’t explain it, doesn’t make it less real. Trust your experiences, they’re REAL. What I finally had to realize was, he had given me one helluva going away present – clear proof that we survive physical death and continue on in some other form. The most striking aspect of this truly striking experience is that his spirit had MASS. It hit me with the force of a small marble, but still went right thru my skull without resistance. I had a ‘burn’ mark on my temple where he hit for years afterwards, looking a lot like a radiation burn. Interesting… isn’t it?

I’m sorry for your loss. I have heard about this recognition of the soul leaving the body from a friend of mine that lost her father a few years ago. She watched it happen in the hospital.

This is also bringing memories of recognizing it with my childhood dog. I didn’t see a wisp or anything but it was like a fading away that doesn’t look the same as falling asleep. It’s more sudden than that. Like when someone faints and loses conciousness but the difference is you can still tell there is energy in the body.

We all process grief differently and I’d say whatever makes it easier should be cherished.

Wow what you said just reminded me of when my mum was dying in hospital – I was with her & she was peaceful & had been trying to say a few words but she seemed to be having conversations with people that weren’t there but I assumed they were people coming to get her. She was peaceful & then I saw a white mist rise up from her body, I am going cold now thinking about it & I immediately thought that her spirit was leaving there & then but she wasn’t quite ready to go & then it pulled back in. I thought I might be hallucinating but I know what I saw.

I think it’s exactly what you think it was 🙂 I’ve heard/read many reports of this over the years.

I saw the exact same thing when they took my cousin off of life support.

I’m sorry for your loss. It could be that yellow was the best color to stand out from the environment. Or it could be your own associations with that color. Would you know what they are?
