I will be picking up several of these books tomorrow for my daughter and her cousins thank you simple minded man for bringing this to my attention you are a wonderful sales person. link to fb in comments so you can see his huge rant about this.

Guarantee if one of the many versions of a “kid bible” turned up in the kid’s section it wouldn’t bother him at all.
Somehow *that’s* not influencing children. *That’s* not an agenda. *That’s* not indoctrination.
What he believes is right, just, and normal. Anything else isn’t diversity but **bAd aNd dAnGeRoUs!** -

I did a similar thing at a game store when an old man was looking judgementally at a copy of “advanced lovers and lesbians”. I quickly snatched it up and can’t wait to find a group to play it with.

I’ve had comments like this on a children’s book I self-published. It’s made to look like a grimoire, but it’s actually a wildlife guidebook with some bird and wildflower identification and stuff like that, just encouraging outdoor play. But because the kids in the book are playing at being witches as part of the thematic framing I’ve had people be like, “Oh no, but witches are scary!” and junk like that. Like, ok cool, don’t buy it then. Lots of kids love witches and witchcraft. Mine wear their fancy witch hats from Halloween year round. They’d probably love this spell book!

This has just reminded me that my local city has a showing of Hocus Pocus with an orchestra, I’m taking this as a sign and booking a ticket!

Anybody else who lives near a Christofascist hive, ask your local librarian if they take requests and ask to have the book in the faculty. If not, donate a copy. For the children.

Why do they capitalize random shit? He took care to capitalize “Kids Book” unnecessarily, but he forgot the apostrophe. I know this isn’t the point of this post, but goddamn these people are fucking dumb.
