Yes! I’ve got one black cat and adopting a second one (my cats half-brother from a new litter) in a few weeks. He is the sweetest cat I’ve ever met, absolutely love him.

I’ve got two (well one is more tortoiseshell than black) and I love them! I actually prefer black cats too.

My two black cats are the most loving boys I’ve ever met! They both like to hang out on my shoulder – one so he can get rides around the apartment, and the other to give me kisses/emotional support when I’m pooping (it’s not something I need, but having a dedicated poopurrvisor has been very nice the last couple years hahaha).

I think it is less with superstition and more the barriers to get the cat. Black cats are the only cats that most places limit when you can adopt them out of fear of cult killings or other abandonments . It would make sense if they get less adoption.
I do not think people’s fears of black cats is as big of a factor then it use to be.

I just adopted a 10yo big black cat. He is so loveable and has helped my bf get over his fear of cats. I caught them sitting on the floor yesterday playing together. I love my mini panther.

My cat picked me at the shelter. Saw him being shy around other people that were going up to him, I went over and he jumped in my arms. He’s black but it wouldn’t have mattered what color he was. He’s my best friend. He’s been with me since 2017

I adopted my pair simply because one was a black cat. HEck, I opened door to pet them, and get a closer look, and [Sekhmet](https://imgur.com/pMEc0Sj) here pushed it open and started walking around the floor. She was also by my side in 3 days, getting pets and wandering around the house.
Her partner in adoption, [Freya](https://imgur.com/SKGVWSX) took nearly a month and a half to show her furry little hide at night. She even hid in the closet by parting the two doors.

We’ve had 4 cats for 5 years, and I’ve really wanted a 5th one cuz we’ve basically had all of the general cat colors represented between the 4 we had, except for black. Finally, a few months ago, my wife relented and we got our black cat. It was a tough thing to do, because we finally decided to get him right around Halloween and the lady who had him told us some horror stories of what people usually get black cats for around that time. All I was worried about is that he’s be well behaved, as in would always use the litter, not claw at the furniture. That’s how low the bar was set, but he turned out to be the sweetest, most playful little rascal! Moreover, the 4 other cats are all my wife’s groupies, basically. But this one has chosen me as his human and will cuddle with me all day every day. Black cats are just as awesome as any other cat. Stop with the stupid superstition, it’s 2021 ffs

I have two black kitties, they are both lovely, even if one of them is slightly derp. They are like tiny cuddly voids with adorably luminous eyes and I love them so much

I wish I could adopt more black cats, but my wife and I agreed to only keep two cats at a time 🙁
My current familiars are a black fluffy boy and a ginger tabby girl. I didn’t choose either of them. My boy was the result of a pregnant stray who had kittens in our house, and my girl originally lived with my MIL who was moving and could only take four of her five cats, and I fell in love.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever chosen a cat. They’ve all either chosen me or ended up in my life in some weird circumstance. But I’ve never gone to a shelter or breeder or store to get a cat. I’d definitely go to a shelter to get one, but the last time I considered doing that (after my ginger boy passed), I ended up with my ginger girl. Not that I’m complaining.

My black cat is my baby, I absolutely adore him. When I adopted him as a kitten, I was drawn to him especially out of the bunch. He was the only one with black fur, and I wouldn’t have him any other way 😄💖

At ons point I had 5 black cats. It was great. Now I only have 1 and 4 other various colors. I miss my black kitty tribe.
