Forums Forums Tarot In what order do YOU lay the cards when using the Celtic Cross spread? This is how I’ve historically done it, but I’m so curious what people think.

I used to lay them out that way, but now I put the 3rd card where the 4th would go, the 4th where the 6th would go, leave the 5th as it is and put the 6th card where the 3rd is. I’m not sure when I changed it up, but I prefer the way I do it now!

On the 4 points of the cross, I tend to go top bottom left right. It feels the most natural to me 🙂

Going by your number system I place 1,2,5,3,4,6, 7,8,9,10
Though being lefthanded 7 through 10 are placed on the left hand side for me.

All the same for me but I switch 3 with 6 as well as 4 with 5

I learned it doing 3 to 6 in ‘top left bottom right’ order. It felt good, so I didn’t switch to any other order yet . Energy/foundation of the question, past, potential, near future.

As for clockwise vs. counter-clockwise, I never thought about it, but it *feels* important somehow.

Well dang. I did not know about different placements either!
