Have you ever seen a weak Mercury by sign, house, or interplanetary-aspect, enhanced by a particular 3rd House placement?

Where are you getting that long list of houses from? What’s the reasoning? Source?

Mercury has its Planetary Joy in the 1st house, and only that house.

Using domicile and dignity, then that could be in any house because those things are about what sign it is in, not house.

Of course, there are basic house assessments, such as those houses that can’t be seen by the Asc,such as the 2nd, 6th, 8th and 12th (with varying levels of difficulty).

There are basic house assessments we use, such as angular vs cadent. But I don’t follow the logic behind your list.

As for the cadent 3rd, 6th and 9th, those are the houses we try to “hide” difficult planets in, when doing Electional Astrology, as it will render them less powerful. So, if I were doing an electional chart for a mercury-ruled type of business or event, I’d sure not want to put mercury in those houses.

I love my mercury in the fifth house… I feel it assists in my creativity. I don’t have many aspects affecting it either. (Just 1, and it’s positive.)

Mercury in 1H.. I talk quite a lot and though when I’m in a spot, I forget my lines.. like if I have to give a speech or speak abt myself.. I feel I’m pretty unhinged though in my speech and my jokes are sarcastic and some ppl get offended (I feel that way when I look/think back) but in the moment it’s all in good fun and I have no hard feelings or intentions to hurt the person. I just joke about what I observe.

Angular houses, especially in the 1st where it has joy. That will give it more of a “global impact” on the chart as Austin Coppock says, so that Mercury can have more influence across the whole life, rather than being confined to just a few areas of life (shown by the house it’s in and the houses it rules). But that could also cause problems because Mercury might be badly placed which would give that bad Mercury free reign to cause havoc. You’d have to hope in that situation that its got some nice benefic aspects or that it’s conjunct its dispositior who can control it.

Mercury conjunct my sun 5H and I just feel I am always able to paint a picture with my words. If I have a vision I have a simple time describing it – I also like to expand and often say, “let me show you”

The 3rd house is a cadent house. Traditionally, planets are impeded in cadent houses, especially houses 6 and 12. So a 3rd house placement would not mitigate a malefically placed or aspected Mercury. According to tradition it would add to it.

Bonatti states that “Advancement” and “Retreat” are among the first conditions to be taken under consideration in any chart. A planet is in a state of advancement when it is angular or succedent, and in a state of retreat when it is cadent.

I have what’s considered a “weak/debilitated” Mercury placement (♓), in the first, but I believe my 3rd house moon sort of counters this.

6th house is a good placement because it is ruled by Virgo and mercury where mercury is exalted.

5th house because it is the house of intelligence and mercury rules that. ( not the only planet that rules intelligence but one of them)

3rd house is the house of skills and mercury also rules that too.

9th house is the house of higher learning. well, guess what, you need a well-placed mercury to be a good student.

and so on and so forth….

According to the placidus house system, my mercury, mars, retrograde venus stellium is in the 8th house. When I use the whole house system, it moves into the 9th house. I won’t speak about my secret thoughts, feelings and emotions for a really long time.

Libra mercury in the first house. I’m a Virgo rising, not sure if that would mean something, but I feel like it would.
