**Deck:** The Halloween Tarot by Karin Lee with art by Kipling West

**Spread positions, cards drawn, and interpretations:**

    ***Top Row, left to right:***

    1. *Tell me about yourself. What is your most important characteristic?*
**Queen of Ghosts (Cups)** — My interpretation is that the deck is telling me it is caring and nurturing and here to help me listen to my inner thoughts and intuition.

    2. *What are your strengths as a deck?*
**Eight of Bats (Swords)** — Here, I see myself as the woman in the image, trapped by my own anxieties and self doubts. If only I would remove the blindfold and trust my intuition, I’d see I could actually escape quite easily. I see this new deck as the bats in the image. I think it is telling me its strengths as a deck will be helping me unwind all these thoughts that paralyze me and helping me trust more in my intuition.

    3. *What are your limits as a deck?*
**Eight of Ghosts (Cups) reversed** — I interpret this to mean the deck can sometimes be indecisive, leading to me wanting to try the reading one more time.

    ***Bottom Row, left to right***

    4. *What are you here to teach me?*
**Four of Ghosts (Cups) reversed** — I interpret this as meaning the deck is here to ground me, teach me to listen to my intuition, and lead me to concentrate on what I feel is most important for me.

    5. *How can I best learn and collaborate with you?*
**High Priestess reversed** — I interpret this as the deck telling me to be still and direct my attention inward. I feel it is telling me to trust my intuition and focus on what is right for me.

    6. *What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?*
**King of Bats (Swords)** — I interpret this answer to mean mental clarity and intellectual power.

Overall, there were a lot of swords and cups in this reading. I was surprised by the absence of pentacles and wands. Clearly, this deck is here to help me get in touch with my intuition and inner feelings and desires. When reading this spread, I really felt positive and supported by the deck. I feel connected to it in a way I’ve never connected with my other decks. I’m excited to read more with it and see what it has to teach me.

I don’t have this deck…yet. I love that there’s a black cat on every card!

I love this deck too! I have both the full sized version and the smaller one in a tin. I use the smaller one for public readings as it’s easier to carry and shuffle, esp. by people with small hands.

I always use this deck when I work my friends’ Halloween events. It’s cute, it’s also direct, and there is absolutely NOTHING anyone can find offensive in it. No nudity, no nothing except cute Halloween images. And I’m not stuck trying to explain the Golden Dawn via the RWS when I use this, either, thank God.

You’ll have a lot of fun with this. 😉

Ooh I love the little ghost replacing the fish for the Queen of Cups and the Death’s Head Moth for the King of Swords. Cute deck!

I’m new to this concept of interviewing my deck. I’m using these questions today on my favorite deck to reacquaint myself with it. Thanks for this post for the inspiration!

I just got a deck today and my immediate reaction to it was that I needed to crochet a bag for it to live in. Haven’t interviewed it yet, but I have a feeling I’m going to feel the same as you about your deck.
