Great observation. In short, the answer is yes. The man who developed this deck was a member of the Order of the Golden Dawn, so he would have incorporated some of their teachings into these cards. It’s my understanding that there are many versions of the same three characters, repeated throughout the major arcana. Those characters are The Fool, The Magician, and the High Priestess. If you observe the images you’ll see clues that support this such as the same feather the fool has on the crown of the wisdom child.

    Hey.

What you have just done – is made a prompt connection.

Here’s a little exercise that can help you make more of these – it’s known as the Square of Etiella

Take your 22 Majors and lay them in a square like thus:

    0-1-2-3

    3-4-5-6

    6-7-8-9

    9-10-11-12

    12-13-14-15

    15-16-17-18

    18-19-20-21

Now I know it looks odd -“how am I supposed to put one card on two different lines? It’s a mental exercise….but here’s a trick – you are to imagine that The Empress (3) is on the next line and so on.

What you are looking for are connections horizontally, vertically and diagonally.

Putting them in this grid fashion and looking over them should help you to make more connections. Write down your impressions as they come to you – these are your prompts.

This is a great way to find deeper connections between the cards.

    Hope this helps!

    One take:

The fool descends from the higher realms to incarnate.

After they process human life to the point that they are able to transcend the dominant local (Earthly) mental constructs/authorities, they are liberated. Naked before god (the sun) and nature without shame about who and what they are.

So the fool descends with a naive embrace of self and life, undergoes the human drama, and ideally emerges again free of the human constriction on their consciousness. The freedom is marked by the willingness to be naked and seen without shame. The ego has no hold on their true being.

The final third of the major arcana, then, relates to those who have reached that shameless embrace of Self on Earth. Not as defined by the local rationales, but the transcendent Self living through the human form.

My intuitive take on the feather meaning – the head is the seat of intellect and reason. Feathers can symbolize birds, which often are used to symbolize messengers and clarity of thought. So having a feather on the head could mean something as simple as the way forward/decision is clear or the path is being revealed. It could also mean that one needs to clear away old thought processes to make way for new ones.

My understanding is that it’s the Feather of Horus. Here’s a link with more info: https://www.ancient.eu/article/42/the-egyptian-afterlife–the-feather-of-truth/

I’ve always viewed the Fool as the “protagonist” in the story of life, an avatar for you to place yourself in. The Major Arcana act as different steps through the journey of life, where the Fool can be represented in each stage.

Interesting! I have never noticed that! I would def say if you did, it would mean something significant for you! Feathers are often times signs of manifesting dreams and angels or your guides working in the background for you! Something is going to come into fruition!

    no, not similarities.
the Death – means you have to release something old for starting something new.
but the Fool……wow, it’s much more strong card.
it’s not only beginning. it’s a new start, it’s also the defense (because of your urgency), it’s a new reading of each near card…a lot of great mount of meaning.
