I’m new to deity work (and really witchcraft as a whole as I’ve actually buckled down and started studying it instead of winging it), and I’ve been praying to Hades since discovering he was a deity reaching out to work with me through another witch. I’ve been trying to be consistent with praying to him every night as I live in a predominantly Christian household and need to lay low (I have a secret altar dedicated to him that I set up to pray to him).
With my recent studying of witchcraft, I’ve found myself staying up late and being tired and just drained of energy and I don’t want to approach him like this (I want to be aware and clear minded when I speak with him). I’m used to praying to a Christian god and haven’t really differentiated how I speak with Hades vs. how I used to pray (of course with different terms). I don’t want to feel like I’m being a ‘bad worshipper’ by not praying to him but really some nights I don’t have the energy to pray. Is it wiser to just push through and pray to him, or should I wait until I’m metaphorically at my best?

Absolutely. You choose your path. You’re the boss.

Namah Guan shi yin Pusah. There. I just said a prayer to a deity.

You are making to much of this. Just say a prayer. I feel that you feel if it is not some big production it won’t be received well? Just say a prayer. I believe you are overthinking this.

Relax. Hades won’t get pissed because you acted like a human. BB.

It is definitely okay to not pray every day. If you feel bad about it, maybe when you go to bed, you can place your hand over your chest and just send energy, and the assurance that you will pray and offer offerings when you have the proper energy to do so.

UPG and SPG incoming : A lot of people in modern day come to hades for strength and comfort for chronic health and mental issues. Myself included. I am low energy because of health complications and sever depression. If you have a reason for not being able to worship the way you want, he will see it and not hold it against you. I actually wrote a few posts on secret worship, on r/hades, I can dig those up if you’d like. You are not a bad worshipper. I think a bad worshiper is someone who gives empty words and actions. If you are doing your best, he will accept that. If it helps, I like to say good morning to him every day. This is a small way I acknowledge him, and it actually does put me in a good mood, maybe you can try that, or just saying good night?

I tend to pray to Hades when I am in destress, but not everyone likes to do that. If you don’t feel up to do something, don’t force it. Just let him know another time what your going through, thats what I do when I feel guilty for an action or inaction.

I don’t pray to a deity. Not everyone has one

And out of those you have one, they don’t always pray to them every day.

I grew up non religious. When I turned christian (christopagan nowadays) I felt that I need to pray every day or god punishes me. But thats somehow the whole christian fearmongering thing. Nowadays I usually pray to JAHVE every evening and to Brig i d when it feels right. But now and then I intentionally miss a daily prayer so it doesnt become an obligation.

You don’t have to pray every night or day. I don’t, and I know others don’t. It’s completely up to you, and don’t feel guilty if you choose to not do daily prayer to your deity. I’m sure Hades won’t be mad if you choose to be more casual in when you give your prayers.
