Is it possible to be closed off from the spirit realm?

I’ve watching a lot of Mackie and Amanda videos lately and I’ve been wondering to myself why I haven’t encountered any sort of feelings or sightings in the past few years, that last time I’ve encountered something was a couple years ago in an Airbnb in Montreal in my sleep but other than that I haven’t got anything, I used to physically see spirits growing up and had a dark entity in my house growing up, specifically the infamous man in the hat. I moved out of that house and haven’t seen anything. I occasionally feel things but is it possible I’ve just closed that part of me off. I’m 26M now and ive been trying to open that part of me back up but I’m scared.
