As the zodiac is cyclical and moves from one sign to the next, can we assume that it gains a degree of proficiency from a previous sign? It gains experience from the previous sign because it’s already been there and done that and it moves on to the next sign in order to develop further. Does that make perfect sense? I don’t know if it’s too obvious but the implications are interesting.

For example Scorpio is working on transformation, but in order to do that, it would have to have wisdom from the previous sign (Libra). It seems that to Scorpio the wisdom almost comes naturally, and they can act on it literally, it is their foundation.

Then again Taurus is about performing continuous work, but in order to work they would have to have energy form the previous sign (Aeries). They don’t need to seek inspiration and energy to motivate themselves, it comes absolutely naturally to them.

So if Libra would try and teach Scorpio, the latter would be like… why are you even concerned with that, it’s all common sense. And the same applies to Taurus, for them the Aries’ ideas are like the child plays. They’ve already grown up and now want to develop in relation to the new sign.

I haven’t really considered all 12 of the signs, but the intuition tells me there has to be the same connection. Just have to figure it out, one by one. Astrology books don’t seem to talk about this, because maybe it is very obvious? But I still find this interesting.

Why? Because, it helps you understand your sign through the previous sign. Just look at the previous sign and suddenly you get lots of talents strength from there, without even realizing. They are now a part of your subconsciousness.

But even more wonderful is when you can understand *where* you are going with all that work you are doing in your sign. Being a libra, you are basically discovering wisdom, why, so that in the future you could become a Scorpio who is now empowered to make the actual impact, a transformation.

What are your thoughts about this?

From a metaphysical perspective: yes, in absolute terms there is the notion of ‘progress’ as the signs move from individuality to universality. As you put it: the work of each previous sign culminate in the next as an implicit essence. This of course also for Pisces in relation to Aries.

Then again: the personal expression through a sign is cyclical from an evolutionary perspective: it depends on which tier of the ladder the soul reincarnates. An Aries can have gained aeons of wisdom and a Pisces could be a ‘young soul’.

And to make things more complicated: personality centered consciousness, moves from Pisces to Aries, through Capricorn and Aquarius. From this perspective the Libra would be ‘further’ on the wheel….

You might like The Inner Sky, by Steven Forrest. He goes into detail explaining this evolution in each sign. Here’s an excerpt (Virgo):

“Roaring gets old. Consciousness, tired of Leo’s fanfare, reaches for deeper meaning, for a sense of purpose.

Leo looms large. He shocks us to attentiveness. But gradually our circle of attention widens. The mighty lion is revealed in a new perspective: against the backdrop of galaxies, of aeons, of life and death, his pride and vanity are absurd. The lion’s roar turns out to be empty.

In Leo, personality attains a pinnacle. It can be taken no further. Our next step is nothing less than a leap to a new level of experience. Out of that need, out of that despair, arises the Virgin.

Awareness attunes to a new feeling: the hunger for personal transformation. The seeds of discontent have germinated; Virgo must grow.”

I would not say that each sign has mastery over the previous one, but rather that each sign has an important lesson to remind the previous one of.

What does this mean for an Aries then?

In western astrology when you start dealing with so called primary directions and secondary progressions you come to this conclusion that internal development of personality goes along the line of consecutive signs. Gemini ascendant evolves into cancer ascendant et cetera. It’s mainstream for folks who get beyond basics with astrology. Some people even report changes in their looks, like hair getting a little darker when they go from libra to scorpio. But I do not agree there is element of mastery over the previous sign. How did you come to such conclusion?

I wouldn’t say MASTERY, but the zodiac wheel (like life and the universe) is all about balance.

I like to think of each sign as trying to break the “generational curses” of the sign before it.

Like, I’m a Sagittarius. I think I’m so light hearted, funny, and flakey is because as a Sag I’m trying to “over correct” for Scorpios being so intense, loyal (a nice way of being stalkerish), so dark, moody, and deep. It’s almost like the “best” traits of Sag are trying to fix the worst in Scorpio.

Just like my Capricorn friend is over correcting for Sag…Capricorn is diligent, hard working, VERY practical, and obsessed with money/material affairs. The epitome of capitalism and “time to wake up and get that bread”, very rigid, and all about maintaining the status quo, sooooo our Aquarius friend is very society oriented, thinking outside the box, unbiased/unemotional, etc. Pisces is very spiritual and emotional and is all about trying to spiritually connect with the world and society, because Aquarius was a robot and unable to do that.

And so forth and so on!

Well first time is not linear. Sure we can look at it that way, but really cyclical processes have no beginnings or endings. From their origin to now there exists maturation, encoded within many cycles. Aries is no true beginning, but rather a fresh emergence of light following the principle of sunrise. Pisces is no master of all signs, simply resides within the murky position of balance between yin and yang that gives dawn its mysterious nature. The i ching [overlay](https://www.reddit.com/r/iching/comments/k5oayo/correlation_between_sovereign_cycle_of_i_ching/) helps reveal the principle well for those who discover how to look.

The sign that follows also attracts the previous one. This is a one-sided attraction, and the sign that follows has no interest in it’s preceding signs. That means, if you’re a Libra, you would be naturally attracted to Scorpios, not just in a sexual way but in every way. But you will have the least interest in Virgos.

i see what you’re saying. i don’t look at the signs as individuals. its like the electromagnetic spectrum to me. they’re both just a set of vibrations. the signs are all made of the same stuff just different vibrations which can be measured and predicted. so yea signs close to each other will have similarities just different ways of expressing them. just like UV rays looks different from visible light when it’s all just waves of radiation.
what is already mastered or comes natural to a person can be seen from the south node(ketu). but the moon sun and rising can all show natural talents too.
because the planets are all the same too. they just express their physical existence differently. like we do because we’re made of planets. that’s why we feel and carry that energy with us.

that’s just how i see it tho and hopefully u understand me

The astrological ages go in reverse. Does that mean the universe is moving backwards and getting worse?

I always saw as the sign, Taurus, has to learn how to love (Venus) things beyond itself! Aries can be a bit selfish!

Libra has to learn to love a person that’s not itself! Sagittarius learns to be brighter and happier, Scorpio can be so dark and intense! Etc, etc!

Can this apply to your natal chart? Like Virgo being my first house and ending at Leo being the twelfth house.

Since 12H represents the mystery, spiritual, hidden etc. unknown, what if our “highest self” resides in the 12H? Like that’ll be our “mastered self” after we eventually learn from each sign as a cycle

And Virgo being at 1H starting at birth kinda thing

That way it can also cater on a more individual level.

Does that make sense? Sorry I’m high LOL

I like this idea although i always wonder if it applies to your sun, moon, rising, or all of them together?
