I`m not quite sure of the ways that astrologers who use whole house to interpret the charts.

GuestFebruary 8, 2021 at 10:12 amI use Equal house system, wherein the ascendant’s degree is the 1st house, and the degree is used on all the other houses. So an Asc of 12 Pisces, gives a 2nd house at 12 Aries, a 4th at 12 Gemini, and so on. I don’t like the Whole Sign system as it leaves the ascendant orphaned, uncoupled from its position as the first house cusp. Some people are bothered by Equal Houses having a 90 degree 4th and 10th cusps that don’t coincide with the MC/IC. I agree with Carl Payne Tobey that the MC is not a part of astrology, it is not part of the ecliptic. The MC is part of a different circle. The 4th/10th houses should be 90 degrees from the ascendant just like Cancer and Capricorn are in a 90 degree square to Aries.
