The cloud? Was invented by lawyers to skirt responsibility for your data.

Something goes wrong? The contract basically says “its nobody’s fault,” even when someone is negligent. And your stuff? Pffft. Nobody consults you.

You gave your stuff away, its not yours anymore. We just let you use it, until its inconvenient.

Lets have a centralized set of servers that can analyze all the data we have on *all* our customers! All their photos, songs, coffee purchases, what have you. And lets SELL IT!
