Knowledge of blue/gray place or realms in the immediate afterlife?

I had a medium make contact with me through a mutual friend after my bf passed away… he kept showing up for her and asking her to contact my friend.. long story short he was trying to get to my. It was not a good death and his life was very ugly towards the end. While speaking to him through her she said he was showing her a “blue-gray” place, also when I asked if the afterlife was what we thought he said I “wouldn’t like it”. Another medium told me he felt “stuck” wherever he was. Ive searched for references to this experience and can’t find anything.. does anyone know anything about this blue/gray place that’s not so enjoyable in the immediate afterlife when a person passes over?

Sounds like what I call “the land of summer night.” It’s a halfway place where all the dead go. Sometimes they don’t know they’re dead yet. They reflect on their lives, keep themselves available to their loved ones, and then they move on. Sometimes they to the sunny place, and sometimes they go right back into the line to be reborn.

If this is the same blue-gray place then it’ll be okay. It’s not a place of torment, although people do take their sadness with them.
