One of my favorite lines from Derry Girls was the main character’s mom (in 90s Ireland!) emphatically pointing at a portrait of Dolly and demanding her daughter “Swear on Dolly!” An Irish Catholic choosing to swear on our patron saint and not Jesus ❤️

I have met Dolly several times in several different capacities. She is exactly what you would expect. She is so so sweet. She is one of those people that when you speak to her she has this uncanny ability to make it seem like you are the only person in the room.

I was explaining Dolly’s [Imagination Library](https://imaginationlibrary.com/) to my husband this morning and saying we needed to sign our son up after he’s born. He asked if that was really a thing, and I explained that yes, Dolly is an actual living saint.
