Let’s say I contacted the dead through a ouija board. Is there a possibility now that I may be haunted. I don’t want to piss of the dead and the conversations were actually positive. But is there a way that I can reassure I’ll be ok after playing? I heard to cleanse your space and ground yourself?

I just don’t want to fuck with the dead. I was very respectful when talking, and it went positive but I’m just worrying I might have disturbed something I don’t think I did as the 2 men were very friendly we spoke to.

If you don’t know what you’re doing you could in fact anger a spirit. If you plan to keep communicating with the dead, please educate yourself on proper etiquette and how to protect yourself first! Better safe than sorry. I learned the hard way. Don’t make that same mistake. You also need to remember it’s not a game. A ouija board is a form of divination.

I used to do a lot of spiritualism, basically contacting/talking to any and all spirits, dead or disembodied. This was obviously incredibly unsafe and it took me years to clean out all the unwanted guests.

I’m by no means an authority, but I’ll list some things that might help:

– it’s important to know and trust your intuition. If you get a weird/off/unsafe feeling, safely stop the session.

– some spirits may communicate best through empathy. Understand that this connection is also a gateway to you. It’s important to know how to guard against this.

– spirits are under no obligation to tell the truth.

– a spirit may be present and choose to not announce themselves. Never consider any session “failed” and just leave it without closing.

– learn how to open and close a session competently. Even a positive contact should be ended with a strong message that nothing is welcome to stay or enter after this point.

– know what to do in a worst case scenario. Having an entity in your space is thrilling for about a week before it gets old, then it gets scary.

– still messed up and don’t know how to fix it? Ask for help. Yes, it’s humiliating because we should all know better, but take this as a learning experience.

Put salt in the box or bag with the ouija board or pendulum in it. You can also add other protective herbs, I put crucifixes in mine sometimes just in case but you could totally put a pentacle, etc in it. I even put protective water in mine but the bag must have opened and got on the board (it didnt ruin the board, but if you dont want water to leak then use a bottle instead). I actually liked the fact the board is now coated in the water.
