let’s talk magpies- what significance to they have for you, fellow witches? do you fear them, or embrace them?
i seem to be seeing lots of magpies recently and i think that they’re really pretty, but i’m not sure what they signify! lots of people i know believe differently, so what about you? safe travels <3

I love them, as well as all Corvids. They’re such smart birds!

I used to live in California’s Central Valley, which has a rare endemic Yellow Billed Magpie. Birder friends would come into town, excited to see this pretty unique bird and I’d show them to all the best dumpsters where they hang out.

I love them a lot, they’re smart, clever, handsome and willing to do anything for a snack

Always salute a single magpie and sing the rhyme.

They seem to scare people who find them too loud and too smart to be honest, but I love them. There’s an extended family of magpies nesting in the tallest trees of my garden and I hear them having lengthy conversations every morning. They use a great variety of sounds, it’s amazing. They are very social and take great care of one another. To me, they represent wisdom and protection.

I’ve never had a bad experience with a magpie, and I’m always excited to see them.

I adore magpies. They were my grandma’s favorite bird and she used to feed the ones that would come to her house. After several years, though, they stopped showing up. We think that rapid new development might have pushed them out of their habitat in California.

Absolutely love them, get them allll the time in my garden. They have such personalities and I have a slight relationship with the one that removes the moss from my drain every afternoon.

Seeing a magpie is a good omen for the rest of your day! At least in my family.

I live a couple of streets away from a road called “Magpie [insert noun for type of passageway]” which usually has hundreds, if not thousands, of (eurasian) magpies nesting in it, so naturally we have lots of magpies here being so close to it.

They’re lovely birds, maybe a tad loud sometimes at 4am, but that’s just their nature. Can usually tell when a magpie lands on the roof vs a pidgeon landing up there as the pidgeons are always much clumsier sounding.
