    **Foreword:**

    The year is coming to a close and with it, we set our intent to grow for the next year.

    December 21, 2022 is a New Moon, and with the last – or first, depending on perspective – Sabbat of the year, we lay the groundwork for new beginnings and establish our roots to bring to life that which was once dead.

    The land is currently asleep, so by planting a seed into the ground, we bring life that grows throughout the year. With this seed, planted on this Winter Solstice, we conceive the life that we wish to grow.

    **Awareness/FAQ:**

    This spell is intended to be an ongoing working. Because it’ll be hard to keep track of this spell, we thought that planting seeds would be a good way for people to monitor progress. By planting something into the ground, we bring new life to overtake the old. The idea of planting seeds at this time of year will allow your spell to have a physical manifestation, for you to keep track of.

    If you plant it on your property then you are setting the intent for *you* to do your part whereas if you plant somewhere public then your intent is spread to those in the area, and those who pass through it.

    With this possibility of planting publicly, we must ensure that local laws are followed – we don’t want you to be arrested or fined for trying to help the planet. Please be cautious of what and where you plant. We strongly recommend planting invasive species in a controlled environment, such as in a growing pot on your property.

    **If you don’t have seeds to plant, that’s FINE!**

    ***If there’s any part of this spell that you don’t have, that’s PERFECTLY FINE!***

    **You have three days** ***from the day that you read this*** **to cast the spell.**

    r/witchcraft generally does not participate in Calls to Arms, even with the most controversial or persuasive movements – especially when it comes to politics. This is because we’re here to discuss witchcraft, not influence the world; you’re a witch, you wanna cast your spells – that’s what this board is here for.

    The year of 2022, however, has shown us the ugliest perversions of humanity regarding topics that shouldn’t even be up for debate: our basic human rights.

    From Roe v Wade to Brackeen v Haaland, basic human rights are under assault; not just in America, but all around the world. This mass working is meant to send out the intent that we – human beings – will not be taken aslave; humans of all walks of life will be free.

    I understand that there are some people who see this message and think that it’s hokey, and that witches “casting a spell to influence politics isn’t what you’re here for” but this is witchcraft – if you don’t think that it’ll do anything then do the spell that I’m giving you, sit back, and wait. Just watch what happens this year. Just. Watch.

    I also understand, most importantly, that it’s not only Americans who are reading this. I present the ideas of Americans merely to reach the larger audience, to present to all of us ways that the precedents being set in the US can harm all of us worldwide.

    You can use this spell to name ***any individual who is in any position of power*** \- you decide what that phrase means, so you name whoever is doing harm.

    With all of that being said, let’s do some witchcraft:

    **Tools:**

    * A dime (lowest silver currency)
    * Gems – Quartz, Amethyst, Tiger’s Eye, Obsidian/Onyx, Bloodstone,
    * Herbs –
    * Seeds
    * Altar
    * Effigies (Statues, Dedications)
    * Tools (Cards, Sigil, Wand, Athame, etc)

    **Flowers to plant:**

    * Bee balm
    * White wild indigo
    * Purple coneflower
    * Black-eyed susan
    * Joe-pye weed
    * Marsh blazing star
    * Wrinkleleaf goldenrod
    * Sunflowers

    **Herbs to plant (*****potted)*****:**

    * Sage
    * Thyme
    * Borage
    * Lavender
    * Chives
    * Dill
    * Basil
    * Oregano
    * Rosemary
    * Mint

    # The Spell

    It’s important to understand that as you read this, what you’re doing in your mind ***is*** happening.

    As you approach your altar with the knowledge of this spell, you prepare make known our will.

    **Place your gems and your herbs in a sachet with your seeds** \- place this sachet on your altar.

    * It may help you to keep the seeds in a separate bag inside of the sachet.

    **Carve your name into a candle, and carve a pentacle into the bottom. Circle it three times, clockwise.**

    * Any shapes or designs that come to you (sigils) can be carved into it as well.

    **Light the candle.**

    *Imagine yourself in a tube. That tube takes you down to a cavern, very far beneath the surface of the Earth; in this cavern is a rushing river. The color is not important, but whatever color you see is your color – look it up afterward, it could mean something.*

    *Step into the water, walking up to your waist, and begin churning the waters. Once it’s ready, feel the bottom of your body – wherever you’re touching the floor – and shoot the energy up the pipe. Pull it into your physical body, filling all of your nooks and crannies, and then focus it into your center.*

    *Push the energy out around you in a sphere that begins to solidify as it spins clockwise.*

    **Using the hand that you don’t write with, draw Pentacle A in the air (using your wand, athame, or just your finger) and then circle it CLOCKWISE three times.**

    **Ring your bell 12 times and say,**

    >Betwixt the twelfth and silent knell is the time at which we cast our spell. Hear our words, and know our will, for as we do will, so mote it be.

    **Call forth your ancestors, spirits, any gods or goddesses who you work with.**

    * If you don’t have any then Maat, Themis, Lugh, or Baldr could lend a hand.

    **Say,**

    >We are the witches who see the Wrong.
    >
    >We are the witches who Stand Strong.
    >
    >I choose these seeds to plant,
    >
    >So that the new overtakes the old.
    >
    >As the green peeks through the ground,
    >
    >So too is the truth unearthed.
    >
    >Those who harm shall be exposed;
    >
    >Those who harm shall be removed.
    >
    >Hear our words, know our will.
    >
    >For as we do will,
    >
    >So mote it be.

    **Strike your bell one last time and draw Pentacle B in the air, then circle it** ***COUNTER*****CLOCKWISE three times.**

    **Remove your seeds from the sachet and plant them in your desired location.**

    * ***IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY SEEDS TO PLANT THEN DRAWING A SIGIL ON A LEAF OR A SMALL BIODEGRADABLE PIECE OF PAPER WILL WORK. BURY IT UNDERNEATH A TREE.***

    **Toss your dime into a crossroads (any intersection).**

    # Please use caution if planting your seeds wild.
