Medium told me something I’d never heard before

My Dad recently passed away and I went to see a medium that was recommended to me – she told me that most souls/spirits on the ‘other side’ need to find a medium there, in order to connect to this side (like spirits find a medium there in order to connect to the medium here). I had never heard this before and I found it kind of strange. Any thoughts?
