To honour Samhain, I decided to try for the first time contacting a spirit. So what I’m going to write next may as well be a figment of my imagination or well…

I lit a virtual candle and focusing on it I closed my eyes. The first word I heard was Neela (Hindu word for blue colour). Then I asked her what her name was and I heard Sindhu. She gave me the energy of those street smart village girls who make fun of naive sheltered people of city who know nothing. I asked her again and again if she wanted me to tell anything. But she was being teasing and kind of girls who don’t tell you what they’re talking about but they want you to know that you have no idea what they are discussing. Then I heard white cotton ball. And I saw a lion or some creature of lion/panther/someone from catlike family with white whiskers. I closed my eyes again and I felt as if my nose is turning into a lion’s nose who was standing with his eyes closed in a day with beautiful breeze flowing, his golden fine mane flowing with it.

There was a focus on her feet which were dark and sturdy. I felt she was thick and sturdy unlike the dainty noblewoman. She was a woman who labored hard. She was standing with her feet crossed. Also there was an anklet.

And after I thanked her, and asked her to return as our contact for today was complete, someone in my adjacent room pushed the electric switch to off. (I couldn’t see so they may be pushing the switch on as well.)

I would appreciate if anyone helps me to understand this experience more.

Blue is a representation of trust, faith, intelligence, peace and protection from bad spirits.

Sindhu (river) is also a symbol for Lord Vishnu.

The lion is a symbol of strength and wisdom.

The white cotton tail is innocence and vulnerability, but also speed and agility.

I feel like much of what she said exhuded masculine traits and symbolisms. Spirits don’t necessarily have a preferred gender nor preference but they can have masculine dominant and feminine dominant energies. This one, to me, was masculine but if she chose to represent herself as a female, then that’s perfectly ok too, it’s somewhat arbitrary.

Otherwise it was something like an introduction.
