I just did my first ever Terot read and I did it on myself. I prayed, opened my box. Prayed again as i shuffled. I did a three card spread and asked what do I think? What do I do? What do I want? My cards in order were: emperor , empress, high priestess.
First off, I shuffled long and thoroughly, how common is it to get three major arcana cards? ( I’m asking, so if it’s common please tell me)
And second, wow.
My interpretation based off of feelings as well as just the standard meaning of these cards says this deck is speaking to me. I’m floored!
I crave stability and I look always to my father in heaven. Plus I’m concerned about my dad. He is 80 and I know he won’t be on this earth much longer. So that to me explains emperor.
Then empress, I firmly believe we were put in this earth to love one another. My love language is touching. I am drawn to nature. In fact if I’m blue,just getting outside heals me.
Lastly, the high priestess. The answer to the what I do question. I’m finding new ways to communicate with my God. I’m leaning into the part of me I’ve repelled because I thought it was evil. I’m using Terot cards y’all!
I just had to share. Please, if you feel like you can add to this I’d love to hear what you think ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Glad you felt connected to your reading… Side note: If your overhand shuffling you have to do it over 10’000 times before there is actual randomness to the card order.

The first few readings I tried to do with my first deck, I got a lot of the same cards in a row. Like 2 of, 3 of, 4 of Cups (example) similar to you. It wasn’t until I spread them all out on a table and pushed them around a few times was when they got a real good shuffle. Everything else after that has been much better. Still getting the hang of shuffling myself. It’s not easy with my small hands.

Yeah I don’t think people realize that basic shuffling doesn’t actually randomize the cards as much as they think.
A preferred method of mine is putting them flat on a clean surface and pushing them around for a while before collecting them into a deck again.
I also ripple shuffle (scandalous, I know) and overhand shuffle as well, usually using at least two if not all 3 methods in any shuffle.
BUT I don’t believe a “bad” shuffle doesn’t mean you can’t get something from a reading, just remember they are just paper cards used as a tool and not supernatural on their own.

Hi! I’m curious, what kind of prayer did you make? Like a Christian prayer? I’m asking cause I’m planning on getting into tarot and I’m curious about the little rituals one can make to feel more connected 🙂
