    Do you have specific things you do with a new deck of tarot cards prior to using them?
    Is it personal preference?
    Are the spread layouts limited to the instruction booklet that comes with them?

    I spend time with deck shuffling. Typically I sing or listen to music and smoke cleanse it occasionally.

    every practice is a personal preference and there is no wrong way to do it if it works for you!

    I personally do not follow spreads or structured routines. You can make your own spread or not have one at all! You can find spreads through tumblr or Pinterest or by word of mouth!
