I’ve been using my pendulum to talk to my spirit guide. I’ve asked a few times if my best friend and I will date / live together by the end of the year and I keep getting a resounding yes.
The thing is me and my best friend aren’t talking right now because she chose to date someone else over me and we had a falling out. It was a yes a few times before the falling out and yes a few times after.
Have you ever had an experience with a false positive? I’m wondering if my subconscious is affecting it? But every time I ask there is no hesitation, it’s just a big yes. What are your thoughts?

There is a difference between invocation and evocation. If you are using invoked energies it’s only your subconscious influencing the pendulum, because that’s internal energies not external.
You got a false positive because it’s you moving the pendulum not a spirit in your case. I prefer the tarot for divination, or other tools. I have a pendulum kit but I never used it because false positives can be common with that tool.
Not everyone gets along with a pendulum. Sometimes they like to change direction between readings, sometimes they give ridiculous answers, sometimes they don’t give any answers at all.
I’d be more concerned with the situation you’re asking about. You want to know if you’re going to date or live with someone who chose someone else to dare over you?? And by the end of this year?? You aren’t anyone’s back up plan, and no matter how much you like them, don’t let yourself be treated like this – respect yourself a bit more. Why would you want to date someone who already made you a second choice? You’re worth so much more than hanging around waiting to see if they’ll be friends with you again, never mind dating or living with them. They made they’re choice so accept it and move on. Don’t waste your time or energy on someone who doesn’t appreciate yours, especially when there’s always someone else waiting for you that will make you their first choice.
When you ask selfish questions, sometimes your subconscious overrides the answers. It told you want you wanted to hear. If it could, what it would have told you was, “work for it dude and she’ll follow.” Anyway, time to move on, you’ll never salvage a relationship from the girl who chose chad over you. My advice, up your drip, work out <hard>, get a better job and be the man someone would want. Be the Chad dude. Use this as a lesson. And when this other relationship doesn’t work out, don’t be standing there with arms open, you’re better than that.
Yes, there are often false positives with pendulums. They are quite a basic divination tool because it takes your own energy into it’s effect to a more intense extent than a tarot, oracles or runes.
Sometimes the pendulum ‘tells you what you want to hear’ if that makes sense.
