Are there things about you or that you do that signify your sun and moon opposition – maybe one is your conscience and the other is reality? Are you able to balance the polarities to where your sun and moon are harmonious while being polar opposites?

I’m a Virgo sun Pisces moon and I love it. Before I knew anything about astrology, even back to when I was a kid, I’ve been able to pick two completely different ‘sides’ of me. One side of me is analytical, safe, structured, detail oriented and the other side is instinctual, intuitive, empathetic, vulnerable. Lol hello Virgo sun and Pisces moon. Like in decision making, there’s a Virgo option and a Pisces option in my head lol. I think I’ve let myself be too vulnerable in the past where it’s hurt and weakened me so now my sun keeps a hard exterior around me and my vulnerability. I am working on blending my logical, analytical sun with my intuitive, empathetic moon. I think the empath and intuition in me over powers the need for order and to feel safe that my sun requires. But the Virgo in me is always in the back of my head protecting me from the dreamy little Pisces in me. But I love my opposite sun and moon and love the huge presence they have in me! Can’t wait to read all these comments later <3

Taurus sun Scorpio moon. I love it. By being on two opposite ends of a spectrum there’s so much to experience.

Don’t have an exact opposition (sun in Sagittarius 1st degree, Gemini moon at the 19th) but the sign are still opposite so they like each other for the most part. My grandmother is a cancer sun Capricorn moon. Born on the full moon. She’s the best person I’ve ever meet. I strive to be that evolved.

Im an aries moon/libra sun and i believe being born on the full moon is what makes me most me as far as my chart goes. I can be pretty intense at times but have a really soft side that i love showing, however sometimes I find it difficult to process or balance the two. It is a blessing and a curse in the way the extremities express themselves. I feel things very deeply, but am able to maintain personal strength and resilience due to the aries moon. Im sociable and friendly, but extremely and intensely indecisive lol theres beauty in the dichotomy and all I can do sometimes is laugh about it. I have a hard time thinking of the two polarities as separate entities because they often work gracefully together.

I’m a Leo sun (8H) w/Aqua moon (2H). I’ve often struggled between acting on what’s best for me while being driven by the emotional fulfillment of doing what’s best for others/the group/humanity. The two aren’t always in conflict, but do contrast often enough. As I’ve aged I’ve learned to try to find the middle ground.

Aries sun (6th), Libra moon (1st) and I really don’t like it. I’ve always felt like my Libra moon clashes with my sun. When I want to just get up and go, I’ll feel ransacked by doubts. I also hate that I never feel as decisive as I’d like to be — my Libra side always wants me to see the other side.

That being said, I have noticed that if I just say “fuck it” and dive into whatever I want, my Libra moon tends to stay quiet and let my Aries side take over.

I think I would best describe it as interesting. Like someone else said it definitely makes so much sense when you find out. It’s can be challenging, but generally I’d say it’s helpful because you get to see the 2 sides of the coin. I’m a Cap Sun Cancer Moon. I think it balances out well. I’m much more open than a lot of Caps. I really am more like my Sun but I can feel the effect of my moon.

The trouble I have is my Sun Moon opposition is squared by my Suns ruler Saturn in exalted Libra. This is what adds the extra tension.

The key to working with any opposition is to find balance between the 2. Blending and harmonsing so you’re not all of one or the other, but are somewhere in the middle. If you can achieve that then the opposition will be very positive for you.

I am a Scorpio sun, Taurus moon and aldo they don’t make an aspect, I am very happy with my sun and moon. For some reason I don’t find Taurus people my opposites since it is something I find in myself. I am free to transform with Scorpio but also to calm down when I need to , enjoy life without drama and find pleasure in small things. It is head vs heart but you just have to accept opposites in you , and life will become much better.

as a sag sun/gemini moon, it’s a really positive thing bc my gemini moon allows me to be more realistic when my sag sun gets too ambitious. it’s like when you’re aiming an arrow at a goal and you have something to help you pull back with a bit of trust. my sag sun helps my gemini moon be more optimistic which i sometimes consider a bad habit but it doesnt hurt to have a little faith every once in a while.

I see it as a Positive aspect, in that the opposition ultimately desires to create a balance between two “opposite” archetypes that run along the same theme axis. With luminaries it is usually a positive (and personal) theme in the life. I usually see in luminary oppositions that there is one luminary that is “easier” to identify with, and the other is a little harder for the native to identify with (I rarely see natives identify with both equally). I really think it depends upon the the houses the luminaries occupy.

Easiest example: Sun in 1st, Moon in 7th (or vice versa): will more likely identify with their 1st house luminary than their 7th house luminary (but this really depends upon all their other placements/aspects/dignity/etc.etc.).

In general I tend to see luminary opposition natives identify more personally with their luminary that is in houses 1-6, and tend to see the luminary in 7-12 as more “other” and in need of integration. This is not always the case though, and I would love to hear what other astrologers/natives with this placement have noticed.

With luminaries representing the native’s parents, this opposition can sometimes mean that the mother and father were very different from one another in the native’s eyes: perhaps the father was a high-achieving traditional politician (Capricorn) and the mother was a child development therapist or homemaker (Cancer). The axis is tied by tradition/security as a theme, but how/where that theme is enacted will often be in “opposite” fashions. As a previous commenter said, their **method** is what is different.

Sometimes I can’t decide what I WANT do to or what I should do and I go back and forth in my brain constantly. Overall my ego and my emotions always clash hard af when it comes to relationships. Probably bc my Gemini also opposes my Sagittarius Venus 😅
