Question? Strong emotional reaction to thoughts

I am new, not a medium but definitely interested. Sometimes if I have a thought of a loved one who has passed and I get such an wave of emotion which actually does not feel like it was my own but strong wave overcomes me. Is this a communication of sort? An example is I was at a Mexican resort and it had a very beautiful front lobby over looking the ocean. I thought to my late husband that I wish he was here with me and I got so emotional after saying that I literally had to stop and sit down. That was the first time it happened and has since happened a few times or maybe now I am recognizing it.
