Despite being a curmudgeon about material minimalism and the need to not get hung up on stuff, recently I have begun to become certain of this utterance: a practitioner of magic needs at least one fancy hat

Idk why. It can be a tiara or a wig of a bit of cloth, or a hood… But it has to go on the head & be fancy.

    It makes the magic better

This image reminds me of something I’ve been holding in. I’ve seen many witches that genuinely believe in all manner of creatures such as vampires (be it psychic or sanguine), angels, cryptids etc but for some reason whenever I try to ask questions about werewolves, whether people believe in them or general opinions people scoff at me as it it makes sense that weres aren’t real despite them believing in all the others

I wrote a vow and swore an oath to be a witch and serve the People of the Hills (Also you get a lot of weird looks when you tell people your entire practice is dedicated to the fae) and do as I was bid by those who dwell in the lands beyond.

The first 2 months of my craft was nothing but carrying acorns around. Litterally just *pick up that acorn. Get that acorn, grab those acorns…. put those acorns over there- no, not THAT acorn, the other acorn*

    So many acorns

Learning about how to hex and curse is also a great way to learn how to protect yourself from them! It can also help you learn how to undo some of the more complex ones as sometimes a simple return to sender isn’t enough. Plus also it’s better to have the knowledge and never use it than to need it and not have it (of course that’s doesn’t mean one should curse/hex willy-nilly, there should be some deep thought on it and if it’s something you should ever go through with)

I almost posted last night, but I’m not exactly sure what sorts of nuggets we should share. Here are a few things that come to mind from a spiritual healing perspective.

    1. People have no idea how much psychic “stuff” they carry in their aura/astral body from past lives, ancestral vows, and childhood wounds.

    2. Your thoughts are not you, at least not in the traditional sense. Our minds are full of programming from childhood, messages from society, and also there are spirits that communicate with us and their message will be perceived as a thought — and if you are not used to understanding your *own* thought patterns, your own mental processes, you may think a thought originates from you that didn’t.

It takes practice. I still don’t have it down, but the more you become aware of this, the less control you give to random thoughts.

    3. In my experience, from doing a lot of healing sessions on myself and clients, healing often works like an onion. You clear a layer, but there are more layers underneath. This is why it can be frustrating when you feel that you have moved past an issue only for it to come back a year or two later. There’s still an emotional charge/wound there and that next layer is coming up for clearing or acknowledgment.

I’m a “closet witch” because I am also a Christian. I think of Christianity as my religion and witchcraft as a spiritual practice and form of non-denominational worship.

I’ve heard that a lot of Wiccans and Pagans do not believe that Christianity and Witchcraft mix. I respect that, but personally believe that idea to be outdated along with the idea that witches should be drowned, pressed, etc.

I hope this is a community where I can learn and grow in my practice because people in my personal life don’t really get it, which is why I’m closeted

Damn… I’m 38, I should be able to comment something intelligent… but in reality all my first reaction was “lol plumber wolf”
