I never get tired of that story. It pretty much perfectly defines me and my witchy friends (we tend to refer to ourselves as “the bad Pagans in the corner.”) 😂

Lol, someone once asked me how to banish a spirit. I told them to parade around the house banging pots together and chanting, “pay rent or get out.”

Things did quiet down for a while, but they questioned every loose coin they found on the floor or in the couch.

This made me laugh out loud! “See, it’s not so hard!”

I’m going to have to try if that works here, we haven’t had any real rain in over a month and it’s starting to show.

This has major Granny Weatherwax vibes from Discworld. Love it!

Wait so do you like, specifically say ‘see it’s not that hard’ or do any of y’all know if the one in the museum was different. Just considering trying it is all

Me in Portland, OR, having one of the wettest springs on record wondering how to reverse this spell. Pretty sure if I go outside and try to yell something to the sky I will drown.

That’s standard for sympathetic magick. That type of magick was very common in the UK and was even used by the merchant navy.

I like the one where you throw a knife into the ground and yell at the sky: RAIN!!

Not gonna lie, I was a pagan for like ten years before I read actual ancient Greek spells. They are fucking hilarious and often insanely petty. I spent a bunch of money getting digital downloads just to laugh at a guy who tried to make his competitor be distracted by bees during a race.
