Reverse engineer a person’s chart

As I learn more about astrology I’m getting better at recognizing all the ways a birth chart can manifest in a person.

Granted I don’t think anyone could ever fully guess accurately all aspects of someone’s chart, as people and astrology is so beautifully complex!

But the deeper you get into learning about astrology, have you been able to accurately guess parts of someone’s chart especially if you know them quite well?

Interested to hear others’ experiences!

If I know the persons Sun sign I will guess what their Mercury and Venus placements are because Mercury can only ever be one sign away from the Sun, and Venus can only ever be two signs away.

So if someone says they are a Leo they can only have Mercury in Cancer, Leo or Virgo so there’s a good chance of picking up on which one it is.

I prefer to do this first with people I meet in person instead of jumping straight to pulling a chart. As I get to know them and their personality starts to unfold, Ill start making internal guesses like Oh I bet this person has Mercury in Sagittarius, etc. I dont try to figure out their whole chart but some placements really shine through in some people and its fun to try to spot them playing out naturally in real time lol. I will try to figure out entire charts for characters in movies/tv shows tho, like Beth Harmon from Queens Gambit. She really seems like a 1H Saturn on Leo ascendant with 2H Virgo moon conjunct Pluto kinda character.

I’ve done this with my partner. For me Jupiter and Saturn are the lead ins and then I try and slowly move the chart and see whatever fits within those parameters. It’s difficult for me if Saturn and Jupiter are in aspect.

Edit: sorry I thought you meant trying to guess birth time. I wouldn’t try and guess placements outside of that but I have a friend who can with around 90% accuracy tell someone’s element within a few hours of meeting them. I find it fascinating.

Every time I tried to guess someone’s ascendant (and actually managed to verify after, because not that many people know their birth time) I was right. Also a guy who’s not even into astrology all that much guessed my ascendant, so I think that ones pretty easy to get. I have never had much luck trying to guess anything else tho.

Just blindly without other placements no since im not a gambler. But if you give me 2,3 placements i can figure the whole chart in few minutes with an online chart calculator. My guess is any competent astrologer can do this but i didnt see it in comments so i wanted to mention it.

For me it’s probably best on some other gifts besides astrology but I can fairly accurately guess that someone has sign placements. Once I meet a certain energy it becomes really easy to identify after that.

Yes. I’m pretty good at it with some signs – mostly Leo, Aquarius, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Aries. Some of the more docile signs I struggle with like Virgos. The lady at the local convenience store I go to I was sure was an Aquarius sun or rising. I asked her. Virgo sun but Aquarius rising, nailed it.
