BBC made a tongue in cheek documentary regarding fears with the particle accelerator before CERN was opened. It has 5 end of the world scenarios including the particle accelerator.
Made in 2005. Oh, btw, they were predicting a Corona- like virus back then, too. And it shows how the British think poorly of American preparedness. I love this doc.

USA Today: the newspaper for children who can read good, now with coloring!
Never loved this paper, but this is pretty low, even for them. Reminds me of some *Entertainment Tonight* segments – Does the ghost of Michael Jackson owe one million dollars to the estate of Teddy Roosevelt? Tune in after the break to find out!

There is always a slim chance in the sense that their explorations are of the, “lets try this and see what happens” sort. Just like there is a chance your five year olds scribbles might summon demons or produce Shakespeare. It ain’t a big chance.
Unlike most five year olds CERN has some overeducated oversight people who say things like, “theoretically that could damage our expensive equipment/universe maybe you won’t try that one”
