So I did a double today at my job. My job does sidewalk sales which is essentially bringing product outside to bring people in ig?? Anyway, I was the one who brought the stuff out at 7:50am and the same one who brought it all in at 8:45pm. I didn’t notice it in the morning, and the way the outside of my store is set with product, if someone put that there mid day they would have to move stuff. Anyway, I found this little jar bringing stuff in today, it looks like bay leaf, sugar and eggshell from what I can tell? Does anyone know what this would mean? I’m like spiraling in panic because of this, and sadly I don’t know as much as I’d like about witchcraft and such so I came here for answers, thank you!!

Egg shells and bay leaves are protective, and sugar is used for attraction. It looks like someone is trying to protect your stuff and attract more customers.

Is your store located at a crossroad?

These are protective ingredients. If the intent were otherwise, then their spell would most definitely fail. Either way, no reason to worry 🙂

Just like everyone said salt eggshells and what looks like a bay leaf are all for protection. Sugar (if it’s sugar instead of salt) is for sweetening and attraction. If I were to be concerned about anything it’s be what liquid is in there and did they write anything on the bay leaf but i don’t advise opening it up.

And as far as why, maybe it’s an inside job and someone is trying to protect the store and attract customers

It’s a spell jar, so you are looking at most likely European witchcraft

The folklore behind broken eggshells is that if someone leaves an eggshells intact, it will attract fae creatures, so the superstition is to break up the eggshells as to not attract them. In many folklore, broken eggshells are used to ward off negativity and to reverse curses.

Bayleafs were used in some mythology for divination. They have loads of health benifits, and are culturally significant to so many places the use in spells would be entirely up to the spell crafter. Mostly luck, healing, and divination. Hard to say why they added it here as it doesn’t fit the other ingredients well.

Sugar is another item used to distract the fae, as the superstition is if they are hunting you, they will become distracted, counting all of the grains of sugar

    How is your inventory?

My guess is someone may have stolen something and replaced it with that jar to avoid any negative retribution or curses in the event that the store keeper was a witch.

Regardless of the reason someone put it there, I would dispose of it. It’s not your spell. You don’t know the intent behind its creation.

Take it somewhere away from your home and work and break the glass to break the spell. Everything inside is biodegradable, so you can return it to the earth & recycle the glass

All those ingredients are protective, there’s nothing in there that’s harmful.

I have to say this but those ingredients aren’t always used for protection and good. Why do you presume that was the intention.

I would be careful of someone wanting you sweet on them especially placed where you will see and touch it. It gives me creepy vibes
